About O'Sheas Irish Bar
O'Sheas Irish Bar is an Irish-owned and run pub in Manchester, at 80 Princess St, showing GAA matches alongside football on lots of screens. For fans of either code, that means the match can be followed from the bar or a table. Live music runs in the same room, and Tayto crisps are sold for those who want them with a drink. Guinness is served as a pint, and the bar also pours gin, wine and craft beer. The kitchen covers brunch, sandwiches and burgers, including a beef burger with onion rings and chips. Orders are placed at the bar, and the team brings food and drinks to the table. Large tables suit groups, and the space can be cleared for a dance floor.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return to the Guinness, calling it thick, creamy and better than other pints they tried in Manchester. The food comes close behind, with the beef burger singled out as full of flavour, alongside good onion rings, hot chips and a gravy that goes with the steak burger. Others praise the fish as spectacular, the beef pie, and a waffle with bacon and a bacon and egg bap that children enjoyed. Sports fans mention the many screens for football and the GAA matches that most venues in the city skip, and Tayto crisps get a nod too. Prices are called reasonable, and the atmosphere is described as great, with some saying it feels like a regular local. The main caveats are small. One visitor found the staff lacked the usual welcoming Irish vibe, and another said ordering at the bar meant a second round of drinks never arrived at the table.

“The fish was fantastic. Stopped here with the kids while we were waiting for a train later in the afternoon. Chips were pretty good....but that fish...spectacular!!!! My kids got the waffle and bacon and a bacon and egg Bap. Both said they were excellent. Not overly busy but enough people for a good atmosphere.”

“Nice classic pub with lots of screens to watch football. It’s not obvious that it’s a pub from outside. I’d go back but wouldn’t particularly recommend it. It was also during the week so I’m sure the atmosphere is different on Fridays and weekends.”

“Brilliant little find.. great atmosphere, lovely patrons, and staff alike.. very quirky, seems based on Ireland's famous Temple bar, but not quite as pricey..”

“Central location! Lots of seating with big tables for groups and looks like it can be all cleared away for a dance floor! The Guinness is excellent and priced at £6.30 (as of September 2025). Staff when I was in didn’t have the usual welcoming Irish vibe that I’m used to , but maybe an off day for them. Still worth a visit!”

“Unlike most venues in Manchester they actually show all the GAA matches. As my wife is a huge Dublin fan- this is great news 🙌🇮🇪 ⚽️ Also the Guinness is great and the Tayto crisps are tasty. What more could you want? 😜”
