Customer Review Summary

Reviewers come mainly for cheap, quick food that does what it says on the tin, with the Big Smoke burger of beef brisket, bacon and onion rings called excellent value. Close behind are the small plates, where spicy meat feast pizza, spicy prawns and chicken fillets are described as cooked to perfection. Chicken wings and a breakfast of egg and hashbrowns, plus a veggie version, also earn praise. Several mention fast service, plenty of seating and free coffee refills, though one calls the coffee pretty medium and another finds it loud at times. The complaints concern upkeep and consistency. One diner's upstairs table was not wiped before they sat, and condiments meant a trip downstairs. A breakfast diner found the sausage had a funny taste and saw used dishes left sitting as staff struggled to keep up. Service is described as ranging from fantastic to weird. One parent says staff handed their son crayons and drawing paper unprompted, and a manager brought a glass of water after a choking cough.

“Really appreciate the service in this pub, the waiters and waitresses are very professional. They gave some drawing paper and crayons to my son proactively. When I have choked with my drinks, a lady ( I think she is the manager here) is very kind to giving me a glass of water. They are went above and beyond 👍🏻👍🏻”

“Always relied on the many Spoons in London for a good time with work colleagues, but this was the first one I tried in Manchester during the time I was in the city Prices are reasonable, service ranged from fantastic to weird and the food is basic. Enjoyed vegan food during the several times I visited. Simply put, it does what it says on the tin. Would give five stars, but one morning, the person behind the bar who took my order referred to me as "sir" for some reason. Never been called that before and hope this poor, confused Wetherspoon worker gets his eyes (and possibly head) examined at the earliest oppty. Regardless, would visit again.”

“Had the 3 for 12 Small Plates and the food was fabulous..spicy meat feast pizza, spicy prawns and chicken fillets !! All cooked to perfection for the price of 2 starters...mind blowing. Great stuff, they do what they do at the highest level. Totally recommended, I love it”

“Had the breakfast the egg, hashbrowns were good but for some reason the Sausage was not as good as I remembered from last time and seemed to have a funny taste. The staff were struggling to keep up with the dishes and they sat there not being moved for about an hour. Overall not too bad.”

“Class act by this employee called "JM" Was washing my hands, saw him look into one of the 3 stalls with paper on the floor for a brief moment and instantly sign the cleanliness report next to my head I thought "surely not" and glanced in, only to see the seat covered in shite. And yes, it was still there half an hour later Chicken wings are 5/5 though, cheers”
