About Lost In Tokyo
Lost In Tokyo is a bar on Lever St in Manchester's Northern Quarter, with an original cocktail menu themed on Japanese movies and culture. The drinks carry creative names and playful garnishes, and the Tokyo Iced Tea is one of them. The bar also stocks a large range of Japanese whiskey, up to premium bottles. The interior follows a Japanese street style, with separated booths and a large seating area with Shoji-style decoration under low lighting. Darts boards are free to play, and resident DJs run sets for late-night dancing. Entry is free, and guests can add their name to the guestlist on the website to skip the late-night queue.

Customer Review Summary
Cocktails are the main draw, described as delicious and fantastic, with a menu themed on Japanese culture and media, creative names and playful, humorous garnishes. The Tokyo Iced Tea earns a specific mention, and close behind is a large range of Japanese whiskey running up to super premium bottles. Reviewers repeatedly point to the two-for-one cocktail deal as reasonable value, and describe friendly, polite bar staff who support one another. The Japanese street decor, with booths and shoji-style screens, is called very nice if a little over the top, and one reviewer enjoys sitting outside in good weather. Complaints are scattered but concrete: a service charge that isn't written on the menu, music that doesn't fit the theme, no obvious way to tip staff, and one reviewer who waited for a drink while a bartender seemed drunk and drank from the cups behind the bar. Another reviewer's birthday cocktail crawl for a large group ended with the bar reserving an area for them.

“Great vibes and great cocktails at a very reasonable price (2 for £12). Bar staff were very polite and you could tell they were all helping and supporting each other which is nice to see. Cocktails were delicious and I think we tried about half the menu in the end 😅 Only thing I would say is get a tip jar or a more obvious way to tip going. Wanted to leave a tip (due to the quality of drink and staff) and although I was able to leave the tip with a member of staff it would be good to know there is a way to tip and it goes to all the staff :)”

“After visiting lost in Tokyo numerous times I was taken aback by their treatment of me visiting their a place most recently. Not only was I confronted by their bouncer, he physically threatened me outside telling me he will “put me on the floor” after I was nothing but polite. No apology, no remorse.”

“I came here as part of a birthday cocktail crawl I organised for a group of 15: we made the most of the 2 for £15 (though I think it actually turned out to be 2 for £12) offer- even on a Saturday eve! They reserved an area for me, and the Tokyo Iced Tea was delightful.”

“Me and my partner came here on a Wednesday afternoon, it was pretty quiet however that was nice for us since we don't like busy environments. We sat in one of the booth away from the bar which was cosy and they played good music. Enjoyed our drinks they had a deal two for one cocktails for £15, the bar staff were also lovely. I will say the toilets are a little run down my partner said the men's were worse but I thought the women's was not too bad”

“Popped in here for a quick drink and have to say it's a lovely place. Atmosphere is perfect if you just want somewhere to go and chat with a couple of cocktails or beers. Bar staff were great and the cocktails were fantastic. Will definitely be a return spot on the Manchester trips”
