Quick info
About Port Street Beer House
Port Street Beer House is a bar in Manchester's Northern Quarter, at 39-41 Port St, with seating across two floors. Its wine list is selected by Hangingditch and sits alongside hand-pulled ales and craft beers, so the drinks range covers both beer and grape. The draught keg and cask lines rotate, and guest beers arrive regularly. Bottles are stocked as well as the taps, and any beer, cask ales included, can be ordered as a half pint. Board games and snacks are on hand for the table. Artwork hangs inside, and a large cartoon mural covers the exterior.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the beer selection, a changing run of cask, keg and draught pints from pale ales to imperial stouts, with new guest beers arriving regularly. One reviewer found the Bank Top Session in fine condition, another called a pint of Kipling excellent, and a third tried several craft lagers before choosing one that was cold and crisp. Staff come up almost as often, described as friendly, welcoming, brilliant and patient with people who take a long time to choose. The vibe is called relaxed, and reviewers mention the artwork inside, the mural outside, seating on two floors, outdoors and in a rear beer garden, plus board games and snacks. The main caveat is that the toilets are upstairs, which one reviewer says can create problems for disabled visitors. One reviewer also called a craft lager pint expensive, though they liked it. Several reviewers also note that half pints of any beer, including cask ales, are available.

“Top pint. Long time since I’ve been here because I’ve moved away. Great to remember why it’s my favourite pub in Manchester. Not changed at all. My pint of Kipling by Thornbridge was excellent!!”
