About Newnham Court Inn
Newnham Court Inn is a Greene King pub and restaurant on Bearsted Rd in Maidstone, and it works on a walk-in basis. The menu includes a vegetarian burger, a steak ciabatta served with salad and chips, and fajitas that arrive sizzling. Roast dinners come with turkey or roast beef, and Sunday lunch is part of the offering. A dessert menu follows the mains. The large inside space leaves plenty of room to find a table, and the pub handles group and family meals, from a party of 12 to a child's birthday meal.

Customer Review Summary
Hunters chicken is the dish reviewers name most, with several saying it went down well or was great. Close behind are the grills and steaks: a fillet steak and two mixed grills are described as cooked perfectly, one reviewer praises the black pudding, and a burger is called absolutely delicious. One diner calls the roast beef dinner big, and the apple crumble and custard is called delicious. Portions are mostly generous, though one reviewer found them small. The main complaint is a Sunday roast that fell short, with dry turkey, a rock hard Yorkshire pudding, four small roast potatoes and minimal veg. That reviewer also regrets the lamb shank leaving the menu. Others wish the vegetarian burger had a better cheese slice, find the garden exposed, or wanted subtle music in a quiet seating area. Staff are called friendly, attentive and patient with children, though one finds them a little abrupt. One reviewer says their mother, who had been refusing to eat at home, finished everything served.

“We went to this pub for a Sunday lunch last weekend. This was our second visit as a family but I’ve been several times with friends. Food have always been great and generous portions except this time. My partner had the turkey roast. The turkey was dry, Yorkshire pudding was rock hard and only small 4 roast potatoes and minimal veg. Very disappointed compared to the previous roast dinner we had there a few months ago. They no longer have the lamb shank on their menu which was a shame. Service is good as always though.”

“Just had a fantastic meal! Two mixed grills, all meat was top quality and cooked perfectly! Black pudding had lovely flavour, best ever tasted! Hunters chicken great too! A bit quiet where we were sitting so some subtle music would have been nice but overall great! Will definitely be back!”

“Some delicious food served here today. After a nice, hot, sunny day in July, thought we'd find somewhere for a late lunch and a pint. Glad we found it. (On the GK app) It's quite large inside and outside so you won't find it hard to get a table One criticism would be that the garden could do with some planting, private seating pods and zoning or something, as it currently feels a bit exposed. We ordered Chicken skewers and a steak ciabatta, both come with salad and chips with different seasoning . All was lovely. Delicious, in fact. So we shared both meals between the two of us. The staff here seem lovely and friendly, plus the chef is obviously good at cheffing. Oh and a plus, the beers was lovely. Well done to all the staff. Oh and there's loads of parking.”

“Just had a family meal here, 12 of us. Food was great, what you expect from a Greene king. Good size portions for a relatively fair price. Service was fantastic, we had quite an order with kids ordering their own meals so was quite confusing at times, but our waitress Vivien was very patient and good with the kids. All In all a lovely meal.”
