Diners repeatedly single out the har gao and shui mai, along with cheung fun and a smacked cucumber salad praised as refreshing, plus crispy salt and pepper tofu. Several describe generous portions, fresh flavors, and attentive, professional service despite a small space. One reviewer, however, felt Chinatown spots overall have grown touristy and inconsistent, though didn't name a specific dish here.

“I think many Chinese restaurants in Chinatown have just gotten too touristy. Their focus is getting as many in and out as possible and since they are tourists they are not going to return and so the quality suffers. I have yet to find something good in Chinatown”

“Authentic Cantonese dim sum in the heart of London! We had an absolutely wonderful meal at San Chiu Dim. The food was incredibly fresh, flavourful, and reminded us of proper Hong Kong-style tea houses. Every dish we tried was delicious – from the har gao to the siu mai and cheung fun. The service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere in Chinatown just added to the experience. We all left full and happy. Will definitely be coming back! Highly recommend to anyone craving real Cantonese dim sum.”

“I came on a Saturday afternoon with a friend to get a rich dim sum. The food was absolutely delicious and the portions pretty generous. Dumplings were really good and the flavours were just perfect. The prawns and scallop ones were my favourite. Great balance between price and quality. I would definitely come back.”

“Really nice Dim Sum spot in Chinatown. The smacked cucumber salad was so refreshing and full of flavor, and the salt and pepper tofu was crispy and well seasoned. We also tried a variety of dim sum dishes that were very tasty. Service was …”

“We stumbled upon this place and overall experience was great. We really enjoyed the food. It was delicious, we ordered some dim sum; har gao (clear shrimp dumplings), shui mai (pork filled open dumplings), shrimp churng fun (rice roll), cucumber salad, shao long bao (soup dumplings), beef tripe, salt and pepper crispy tofu, chicken feet, turnip cake, and chrysanthemum tea. Dim sum usually doesn’t seem like much and more like snacks but it filled us up. Service was good too. For an authentic Chinese spot, if you know you know, normally there isn’t much service but the staff was professional, attentive, and respectful. Space seemed kind of small but, decent. It’s good for small or large groups. There is so much in Chinatown in London I would like to explore but, if I was in town again, I’d like to return. Till then, let’s eat!”
