  “We came here on a food tour of London, and it turned out to be one of the highlights. The pub claims to be the oldest licensed premises in the city — reputedly since 1216 — and while the building itself is more recent, the sense of history is real. Highwaymen drank here. Condemned men had their last pint here on the way to the gallows. You feel that when you walk in. The front is small and easy to miss, but it opens up considerably towards the back. We had a pint of ale and a Guinness alongside traditional pub food, and everything was solid — well-kept beer, generous portions, fair prices for central London. The staff made the difference. Genuinely friendly, happy to explain the pub’s history, and quick even when it was busy. Perfectly placed between Covent Garden and Holborn, right in the middle of Theatreland. If you want a proper old London pub rather than a polished tourist version, come here.”

  “the food here is ETHEREAL!!! i had the steak and eal pie with a passion fruit martini and enjoyed every single second of it. the music is such a vibe, good 90s disco music. my bartender, olivia, was so hospital and quick to serve my order to my table. definitely come here if you're thinking to find a nice pub to catch up with a friend or an occasion!! ALSO THEY CAN PRINT IMAGES ON UR GUINESS FOR FREE!!”

  “Great pub with friendly staff. Food was good and the seats were comfortable. Usually not too busy so it's easy to chat. Been a while since my last visit but Josh the bartender was always nice and the trivia nights were fun.”

  “My wife and I and my daughter and her husband have been in London for 10 days. We’re from South Florida. The White Hart is the best pub we’ve been to and we highly recommend it!! We’re eating here for the second time on our trip. The beer is great and the Steak pie and chicken pies are amazing! We will be back on our next visit!!”

  “Turned the corner and randomly came across this place. Love the history and the bar keep was super kind. The free Guinness photo printing is such a fun touch and the espresso martini on tap is better than many I've had!”

  “First authentic fish and chips in London! I highly recommend it! Everything was served hot and fresh. 1st time trying mushy peas. Not sure if they had malt vinegar, but it wasn't needed, just a bit of fresh lemon. The whipped ricotta was filling and delicious. The meat pie looked good. They have a few good options for dessert. I tried the sticky toffee pudding.”

  “Great find just 2 mins walk from Shaftesbury Theatre and 5 mins to Holborn station. We were there on a Tuesday evening in winter, just before 5pm for pre-theatre meal and drinks. Nice laid back welcoming atmosphere at this time, with a few tables reserved from 5.30pm, so we still had choice of where to sit. The bar staff were very friendly and quick service. We both had sausage & mash on a drizzly January day and it was just what we needed! Ample serving (3 x Cumberland sausages!) with sweet caramelised onions, mash and gravy. Plenty of other choices but I would probably order the same again as we couldn't fault it. The pub currently does food deals most days, some lunchtime rather than evening. Open kate Fridays & Saturdays, when I imagine it's a totally different atmosphere. Great offer for us was a free drink with any purchase of a main meal if you show Shaftesbury Theatre tickets - this was promoted by the theatre so check their website for meal recommendations to see if still available. We will be visiting again regardless, well worth it.”
