About The Latymers, Hammersmith

The Latymers is a pub on Hammersmith Road in London, with a separate Thai restaurant area built into the same venue. The bar and the dining area both have indoor seating, so drinks and a full Thai meal share one address. The Thai-inspired menu includes red duck curry, Lamb Massaman Curry and Pad Thai noodles, with jasmine rice served alongside the dishes. Live acoustic music is part of the pub's programme. Dogs are welcome, so owners can bring them along for a meal or a drink.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers mostly come for the Thai food inside the pub, described as full of flavour and authentic, with the Lamb Massaman Curry, Pad Thai, red duck curry, prawn salad and spicy beef ho fun noodles all named as highlights. Close behind are friendly, quick staff, incredible portion sizes and a relaxed atmosphere that one diner says feels more like a gastropub than a pub. A few mention live acoustic music, and one suggests booking in advance because a Thursday evening was very busy. The criticism covers both food and service. One diner found the red curry bland and watered down. A long-time regular described unsmiling, impatient staff when asking for the least spicy option and about draft beer, then found chilli in the dish anyway. Another critical reviewer still called one waiter's service excellent, though that same visit ended with dessert ice cream served on a hot plate.

“I’ve been coming here whenever I’m in town for the past 20 years — a loyal fan. The food still tastes great as always, but the customer service on Friday afternoon, 28 Aug 2026 was disappointing. Not a single smile spotted. When I asked for least spicy and about the draft beer, the staff’s impatient attitude and gestures were hard to ignore. And look at the chilli I found — clearly not “least spicy.” What made it worse was seeing how warmly they treated other local customers — big smiles, friendly engagement, and attentive responses — while I felt dismissed. I also noticed how cheerful they were with the chef and cashier team, which made the contrast even more obvious. I truly miss the British boss (or manager) and the friendly staff from my previous visits. I left feeling disappointed and disgusted by today’s service. I would give zero stars to the rude customer service if such an option existed.”

“Here is a review you can post: We’ve been loyal patrons of Latimer Restaurant since 2006, visiting almost monthly, and we recently celebrated my birthday here in June. After 20 years, their incredible hospitality, warm customer service, and consistently delicious food remain as unmatched as ever. Conveniently located right near Hammersmith station, it also features a great adjacent pub if you're in the mood for a drink. A quick tip for drivers: parking is available off-road nearby, but do check the timing restrictions carefully to avoid a ticket! This place holds a special spot in our hearts, and we cannot recommend it enough.”

“Came here to watch the England v Argentina game. Saw the Thai inspired menu and how could I say no to a prawn salad and red duck curry. Was delighted I tried them, they were delicious. The former packed a punch, tangy and spicy; the latter rich, sweet and zesty. Loved the ambiance - not too loud and felt more like a gastropub than pub. Service was prompt and light-heartedly pushy. Would definitely come back to try other dishes.”

“Had high expectations for this place given the very high rating, but unfortunately the only exceptional part of the experience was the excellent service provided by the gentleman waiter. As for the food, the red curry was quite bland and tasted watered down. The dessert was also disappointing, and the ice cream being served on a hot plate definitely did not help the experience.”

“Great food, really good menu with incredible portion sizes and good pricing to reflect. I had the Chicken Pad Mee Korat. Staff are lovely also and were very attentive and patient for our bigger group of 6! Would love to be back but I don't live in West London anymore!”
