Customer Review Summary
The Sunday roast draws the most praise, especially the beef, with reviewers describing dry-aged sirloin that is tender, full of flavour and served on the rarer side, and a roast beef with crunchy potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and savory sauce. Starters come close behind: the scotch egg is singled out more than once, alongside arancini and burrata with toast. Beyond the roast, a Caesar salad with crispy chicken skin stole the show for one solo diner, while others mention fish and chips and a beef pot pie. A spiced Bloody Mary and a Guinness described as spot on also earn mentions. Reviewers call the atmosphere welcoming, relaxed and warm, and the staff friendly and attentive, with one noting that someone appeared offering another beer just as they were thinking of one. One group booked a couple of months ahead for the roast, while another without a reservation found a table outside in the sun. A third called late in the evening and the pub took a reservation and pre-ordered the roast for them.

“Fantastic experience from start to finish — the food and hospitality were brilliant. The fish and chips was delicious! A special thank you to Matteo, who made sure everything ran smoothly throughout our visit. Our whole group commented on how welcome they were made to feel. Thanks also to the kitchen and front of house staff for such a great effort. Highly recommend — we'll definitely be back.”

“I don’t normally leave reviews before I’ve even paid the bill, but this has been that good. I came in on my own just wanting a decent steak, and it’s genuinely exceeded every expectation. The steak was cooked perfectly and was incredibly tender, but somehow the Caesar salad completely stole the show. The crispy chicken skin, the dressing, the Parmesan… I honestly can’t stop thinking about it. It’s one of those dishes that’s so much better than it has any right to be. The service has been brilliant as well from Paulina, Really attentive without being over the top. Every time I was about to think about ordering another beer, someone appeared asking if I wanted one. It just felt effortless.”

“Booked a couple months in advance for their Sunday roast and it didn’t disappoint. Started with their aranchini and the scotch egg which was elite. The roast beef was cooked perfectly and the potatoes were some of the best you would ever find in a restaurant. The service and food was top class and we came back a couple days later for lunch and had their beef pot pie which again was delicious. Best restaurant in the UK.”

“Best service! Super memorable as it was my partner’s first time getting a sunday roast and we called right away at 8:55pm, they made a reservation / pre ordered for us. The service is top shelf. Food was delicious! Highly recommend.”
