The Warwick Arms
“Typical Victorian pub with a laid-back feel, alternating real ales and a North Indian menu.”
Quick info
About The Warwick Arms
The Warwick Arms is a Victorian pub at 160 Warwick Rd in London, serving a full North Indian menu alongside English pub classics. The biryani comes with naan laid over the rice as a pastry-style top, so the Indian side of the menu gets a pub-pie treatment. Fish and chips arrive in a very large portion, mushy peas are available as a side, and the steak and mushroom pie sits among the other pub dishes. At the bar, the draft beer and ale selection changes, with real ales alternating. Memorabilia, antique signs and copper pieces decorate the bar and walls of the old interior.

Customer Review Summary
Fish and chips is the dish reviewers raise most, with several marveling at the size of the plate and calling it delicious. Close behind is the Indian menu, where one diner singles out a biryani topped with naan like a pastry lid, and another returns for the curry. The steak and mushroom pie, a modern take on a meat pie, and the mushy peas also earn praise, as do the real ales and draft beer. Reviewers describe the Victorian interior as cosy and warm, with antique signs, copper pieces and old mirrors, and they call the staff friendly and attentive. A few return a second night running. The one caveat is that weekends can be crowded, and several suggest reserving a table, with one calling a booking a must. One pair emailed ahead both visits and got a quick, kind reply.

“Quality Indian food in a historical pub, with good pints. Really enjoyed our meal here! Full Indian menu. Briyani is a standout for me personally as it’s served with the naan as a kind of pastry top over the rice, keeping everything tender. But all the Indian food was good. Note they also serve a good number of non-Indian selections i.e., pub classics. Reasonable draft beer / ale selection. This is apparently a very old pub, and it’s got quaint memorabilia decoration all over the bar. This makes for a really nice setting!”

“Absolutely loved our visit to The Warwick Arms! We went for the English specials and every dish was incredible, comforting, hearty, and full of flavour. The fish was perfectly cooked, the sides were generous, and everything tasted fresh and homemade. The atmosphere was warm and cosy, with that classic English pub charm, and the service was just as wonderful, friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. A perfect spot for a relaxed evening with great food and wine. Love love loved it and can’t wait to come back!”

“The Warwick Arms is a truly charming and atmospheric pub with a remarkable sense of history and character. From the outside, it already looks inviting, with its classic façade, elegant flowers and cosy street-side seating. Once inside, the place becomes even more impressive — every corner is full of detail, from the old wooden bar and leather seating to the antique signs, copper pieces, vintage objects, framed pictures and beautifully preserved pub décor. It has the feeling of an authentic London pub with real soul: warm, intimate, traditional and full of personality. The interior is not just decorated — it feels collected over time, with every object adding something to the story of the place. The lighting, the brick walls, the old mirrors, the classic furniture and the historical details create a very special atmosphere. A wonderful place to enjoy a drink, relax, meet friends or simply experience the charm of a proper British pub. The Warwick Arms has character, comfort and authenticity — exactly what one hopes to find in London. Highly recommended.”
