About Prince of Wales
The Prince of Wales is a 19th-century pub at 8 Kensington Church St in Kensington, London, with ornate traditional decor and live sport on Sky and TNT Sports. England football matches are among the games shown. The kitchen serves classic British pub food, including fish and chips made with Atlantic cod and a broiled half lemon on the side. Halloumi bites suit a lighter order, and bread pudding with clotted cream ice cream is on the dessert side of the menu. Cask ales sit alongside the food on the drinks list. The bar also pours a house lager.

Customer Review Summary
Fish and chips is the dish reviewers name most, with one praising the crispy, fresh fish and another the Atlantic cod with meaty fries and a broiled half lemon, and a third suggesting ordering it. Close behind are the Classic Mac & Cheese, the halloumi bites and a bread pudding with clotted cream ice cream. The house lager draws repeated praise, described as cold, fresh and pretty excellent. Staff come up often as friendly and welcoming, and food and drinks arrive fast. One reviewer found a family group a table for a World Cup semi-final without a booking. The complaints are narrower but specific. One reviewer described a sandwich of plain white bread with sparse bacon, needing their own ketchup to liven it up, and chips that tasted of old oil despite looking triple cooked. Another found the portions a tiny bit small, and one called the food merely decent and would not return. Several still came back, including one group who returned four nights running, and one visitor who handed over a handwritten list of London places to see.

“John was a friendly, welcoming face. All the staff were kind and efficient. House lager is worth going in for alone! But the food at atmosphere were a bonus. Food portions could have been a tiny bit bigger but we returned 4 nights in a row as we were working up the road. We will definitely go back”

“My wife and I visited the Prince of Wales Pub for the first time, and it was an outstanding experience. The fish and chips were absolutely excellent—crispy, fresh, and cooked to perfection. The Classic Mac & Cheese dinner was simply amazing and one of the best we’ve ever had. What really made our visit memorable was the exceptional hospitality from John and Gary. They were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they even took the time to write down a list of must-visit places in London for us. That personal touch made us feel like valued guests rather than just customers. We highly recommend the Prince of Wales Pub for both the delicious food and the warm, genuine service. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in London!”
