About The Broadcaster White City
The Broadcaster White City is a gastropub in White City, London, spread across four floors of Television Centre at 89 Wood Ln. The rooftop bar lets guests watch the bartenders mix, with views over the surrounding West London area. A private rooftop space called the hut hosts events such as birthday parties, and an events team plans and sets up weddings and parties at the venue. In the kitchen, the fish and chips are made with beer battered hake, and the roast dinners include a pork belly roast. Guinness pigs in blankets come as part of the sharing feast.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return to the Sunday roast, with the pork belly singled out as tender enough to cut with a fork, and another describing a roast dinner with great depth and a good portion. Lunch dishes such as pan fried salmon and beer battered hake also earn praise, along with tiger prawns with scotch bonnet ketchup, fish and chips, mussels and Guinness pigs in blankets. The rooftop and its views come up repeatedly, as does the service, with several diners describing servers who were attentive, knew the menu and suggested drink pairings. Others describe the events team making a wedding and a 40th birthday in the rooftop hut easy to plan, though one calls it not a cheap venue while saying prices and fees were clear up front. The criticisms are smaller. At a barbecue with an Argentinian chef, one group found the rooftop very hot with fans placed too high to feel, and felt glasses were cleared before drinks were finished. Another wanted more of a DJ energy on a bank holiday weekend. One diner with food allergies praised the maître d' for taking extra care.

“I feel that the Guinness pigs in blanket should be offered as a side not just for the sharing feast - they were delicious! I would also have liked more of a DJ vibe on a bank holiday weekend to set it different to a typical Sunday. I’ll be back was amazing food but the ambience needs a bit of a tweak with the music set up to bring an energy.”

“We had a 40th birthday here and the venue was fantastic. We were in 'the hut' on the roof which was a really lovely space. The food was delicious, the staff were amazing and the events team made it all very easy to plan and set up. They let us drop things for the party earlier in the day and made it very hassle free for us with the events team and service team perfectly aligned so the evening ran smoothly without us lifting a finger. It's not a cheap venue so that's the only half gripe, but they're really clear about all prices and fees up front and after holding the event we'd definitely say it's worth it. Special shout out to Kingsley and Eddie who gave us truly excellent service on the evening.”

“We’ve had a very nice experience here. We’ve had lunch on the rooftop terrace with beautiful urban views surrounding us. Lunch was delicious ( pan fried salmon and beer battered hake) and service outstanding. Vicinius was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Thanks Vicinius for making our lunch a lovely moment. We will definitely come again/recommend to our friends and family!”

“Wonderful experience with a few of my closest friends before heading back home to New York. We were seated in the rooftop, next to the bar and had a lovely view of the ever changing West London - also watching the bartenders mix was a hit. A warm welcome, fantastic service by Pradeep S, and extra care by the maître d' to ensure our food allergies were treated addressed. (So sorry I didn’t catch your name but I know the gentlemen was Persian). We had a few yummy dishes: - Tiger prawns with scotch bonnet ketchup (the ketchup was a keeper to accompany my main too.. hee hee!) - a mini wholewheat loaf with leek and garlic butter (a special for us!) - classic fish and chips - made with hake and i believe double/triple cooked chips - classic steak & fries with a watercress salad - mussels made with cider & and a garlic loaf I don’t drink and can recommend the Noughty Hugo - elderflower, mint and Lyre cane mix. My friend enjoyed a spicy drink. Great atmosphere, great music. I’m big on plants and plant care & all the plants looked very happy! Loved the interior design - mixes of terrazzo, concrete, wood, glass, zellige tiles etc.. loved the London map / portrait art piece in the stairwell. Honestly big special thanks to the maître d' & Pradeep S. for providing such a lovely experience & even giving us a few extra tips on where else we could get yummy treats across London. See you when I’m next in town!”

“We went to the Broadcaster for a bbq featuring an Argentinian chef. I only had the pork which I found juicy and tender. The potato was also nice. The venue itself was very hot and the fans I found were placed too high up as we could not feel the effect. We did suggest either they lower the fans or get more powerful ones. The rooftop setting was lovely and had a good view of the area. I can imagine it being really lovely at night. The service was adequate but my group felt they cleared glasses too quickly even when people had not quite finished their drink. The Broadcaster is a good place for drinks and a bite to eat with nice views.”
