About Spotted Horse
Spotted Horse is a Youngs pub on Putney High Street in London, housed in a Georgian-looking building at number 122 with a rooftop bar that hosts parties. The kitchen cooks seasonal British dishes, including haddock fish and chips in a crispy batter and duck pie. The Sunday roast comes with a giant Yorkshire roast for two. Screens show live sport, and the pub gets busy and loud on football match days. Cocktails and pints are poured at the bar. Tables can be booked.

Customer Review Summary
Fish and chips is the dish reviewers name most, with praise for the crispy, light batter on the haddock, and the chicken and mushroom pie gets a mention alongside it. Close behind, diners single out the duck pie, a perfect apple crumble with vanilla custard, and a giant Yorkshire roast for two on Sundays. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly and attentive, and the pub's dog friendly welcome, rooftop terrace and screens for live sport come up often, as do spritzes and a bucket of Peroni and Asahi at a family gathering. The main caveats are practical. One Sunday lunch visitor found terrace tables uncleared from the night before and the burger unavailable, with staff clearly short handed. Another found lunch heavily priced for a pub, and one notes it gets too crowded and loud on Fulham home match days. A family holding a celebration of life in the front of the pub recalled the reserved area and a memory table with a vase of lilies.

“What a fantastic pub! The vibe was absolutely great, and the staff were so lovely. A special shout-out to Hermi, who served us – she was wonderful, and the spritzes she made were just perfect! Highly recommend!”

“We booked a table to watch the England V Norway game, and to eat. We both went for the fish and chips - need to note the lovely crispy light batter on the haddock. It was very busy, for obvious reasons, and the staff were really friendly. Nice decor with lovely comfortable chairs. Definitely will be returning. highly recommended.”

“We went for Sunday lunch and sat on the terrace which is very pretty, however the tables were not cleared from the night before. I felt very sorry for the member of staff who was taking care of us as it was clear they were short staffed. We wanted a burger but they were out so we were disappointed and just had a starter. The pub is very pretty and the member of staff was very lovely, attentive and fast working but they need to be better staffed and have all items of the menu available.”

“Hi Ava and Eddy, Thanks very much to you and your team for organising such a lovely celebration of life on Thursday 11th June 2026 for my father Darryl D’Souza. The food was delicious, especially the pan fried sea bream fillet, buttered jersey royals and tenderstem broccoli. Everyone really enjoyed their mains and the bucket of Peroni and Asahi beers was very popular. Thank you for reserving the front of The Spotted Horse exclusively for us. It is a beautiful area and was just perfect for us. The team serving us was very helpful and friendly and ensured everything went smoothly on the day. Thanks for setting up the memory table with the vase of lilies, which looked so elegant. My family and I were delighted with the team’s service which was simply outstanding. On the occasion of my father Darryl’s Celebration of Life, we were impressed by their efficiency, kindness and empathy. Both the team members serving us were very attentive and engaging and their customer service skills were excellent. Having the wake at The Spotted Horse, which my parents regularly frequented in the 1960s, made the experience extra special.Thank you so much for your hospitality. We look forward to returning soon. Kind regards Andrea, Alfred and Natalie”

“We had a splendid works reunion on the rooftop bar. Meeting up with people who we first met in the 1980s. Thoroughly recommended.”
