Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often praise the friendly staff and the atmosphere, which several describe as lovely and lively, especially when football is on, with good draft options and a good range of keg beers and cask ales. Cocktails stand out too, notably the Putney Gin Fizz, a basil gin cocktail and an espresso martini. Food draws mixed reactions. Fans single out the pork with crackling, the fried chicken with dipping sauce, buffalo cauliflower bites, halloumi, a duck salad and the Sunday roast, though one notes the dry aged steak runs out quickly. Others are less impressed: the steak and sausage roll were called okay and not worth the cost, the fish and chips and baked cookie were very average, and one reviewer found the vegan chicken bites cold and no better than a supermarket meal deal. Cost comes up as well, with a 12.5% service charge, expensive burgers and pricey soft drinks criticised. One diner says the pub suits drinks better than a meal, and the closing note from a football crowd is that management were well organised.

“Went in here for the first England game of the 2026 world cup. I hadn't been before and it was booked by a friend so went in without any expectations. The atmosphere when the England game was on was amazing, good music in between matches to hype everyone up. The main surprise was how good the food was. Everything coming out the kitchen smelt amazing and so we ordered some buffalo cauliflower bites and halloumi plus a duck salad and it was all super fresh, flavourful and delicious. A surprising treat as I wasn't expecting to eat here at all!”

“I recently moved to the area and wanted to try their beers and food. The food is high quality, the staff is very friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is amazing! It’s a great location to have a beer with friends. Definitely highly recommended, I'll be back for sure”

“The venue itself is attractive, and the staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, the food fell far short of expectations. The vegan chicken bites arrived cold, made with low-quality ingredients , and tasted no better than a budget supermarket meal deal. It was an immediate regret and left me hungry and unsatisfied. Lovely atmosphere and nice people, but the kitchen needs serious improvement. At these prices, the food should be far better than Tesco-level. Cannot recommend for anything beyond a coffee or drink. I ordered for 2 people: 1 Passionfruit martini £9 2 Diet coke £7.20(absolutely rocket expensive) 1 Vegan chicken bites £8 1 vegan burger (around nearly £15 too expensive) 1 bacon cheeseburger (around nearly £15 expensive) and 12.5% service charge in which had hardly any service and it was nearly £7 Total 58.17 for two people.”
