About Leather Bottle
Leather Bottle is a pub at 538 Garratt Lane in London, set in a building that is 300 years old. The beer garden has front and rear areas, and the rear holds beach huts and games. Inside, the decor is bright and traditional. The kitchen serves fish and chips and a burger from the shack, which comes with curly fries. Sunday lunch is served with beef and a Yorkshire pudding. Keg and craft beer are on the drinks list, and a pub quiz runs in the evenings. The pub shows sports, including the World Cup and 6 Nations rugby. Dogs are welcome, so owners can bring them along for a drink or a meal.

Customer Review Summary
The caveats centre on kitchen consistency and service. The fish and chips draws complaints: one reviewer found the fish over fried and too crispy, another said the triple cooked chips seemed cooked once and the mushy peas were an afterthought. One Sunday lunch diner reported an overcooked beef, a Yorkshire pudding that tasted mostly of batter, a dirty table and a waitress mentioning a fly issue. Another noted no one came to the table, so they ordered on the app, and one felt burgers were pricey for what they got.

“Excellent evening at the Leather Bottle. The pub quiz hosted by Max was second to none... he was flirtatious without going too far. Zakia, Ethan, and Mike were attentive and quick at the bar, which was appreciated under the pressure of the quiz. Looking forward to many more evenings here.”

“Queeny the bouncer was amazing, I just wanted to leave a review for one of the female bouncer because she genuinely made such a positive impression on our night. From the moment we spoke to her, she was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and approachable. Even though we didn’t need any assistance, she took the time to have a chat with us and made us feel valued rather than just another group coming through the door. It’s refreshing to meet someone who balances professionalism with such a warm and positive attitude. She was smiling, engaging, and clearly enjoys interacting with people, which really helped create a great atmosphere before we’d even gone inside. Staff like her are a real credit to the venue and make a lasting impression. Thanks for making our evening start on such a positive note—we hope she’s recognised for the fantastic job she”

“This is a smashing pub. Went there last Sunday afternoon. The World Cup is on so it was busy. We sat half inside and half outside. The garden is amazing. Tonnes out people out in the garden milling around enjoying the sunshine. Couldn’t get a menu on first pass but I managed to go up and get one. Ordered on the app as no one came to the table but no drama. Throwbacks to Covid. The food was really good the pie (chicken leek) was delicious. Not sure if it was home made or not but it was immense. The mash and gravy were plentiful too. 8/10 for that. We also had a burger from the shack which was mouth watering. As pub burgers go it was well worth the money. Food was great. Atmosphere great. Would 100% go again.”

“When we arrived for Sunday lunch, several staff walked past without greeting us, even though the restaurant was almost empty. We waited to be seated because the table was still dirty and needed wiping. The food was okay huge Yorkshire but tasted mostly of batter, and the beef was overcooked. Gravy and veg were nice. Overall the atmosphere felt flat, no background music, and a waitress kept mentioning a fly issue which was off‑putting. Not awful, but I wouldn’t return or recommend.”

“Met a friend who works locally-ish this evening and was really impressed. Front and rear gardens are lovely, all staff very pleasant and brilliant crowd in on a gorgeous Summer's evening. Lots of keg/craft beer and nice menu - still can't fathom how the courgette and feta risotto has more calories than the fish and chips but there we go! Thank-you Team 💖”
