  “Love this place. Great pub and atmosphere. Really good food. Staff lets it down - last time I went to the pub, I went home and had left my cigarette holder and best lighter - both hold great sentimental value to me. Fifteen minutes after I had left I called to ask if they could check if I had left them on my table or in the toilets. They outright refused and were incredibly rude to me and said they didn’t have the time as they were closing down. They seemed very angry that I had even called to ask and said I needed to call back tomorrow. I called the next day and inevitably the items were lost.”

  “Quite convinced that anyone who has left a bad rating just wants to keep this place a secret. It’s fabulous. Thanks for making our Father’s Day meal so special. Granted we nearly roasted ourselves it was boiling 🥵 but the food and service was out of this world thank you!!! We will hundred percent be back with more fam and friends. P.s order the red Pulgia wine it’s a beauty x”

  “What a lovely place. We came here one Saturday afternoon, with a massive demonstration going on in Central London (palestine) but Stockwell being relatively calm. The food is great. Amazing starters, the best burger I've tasted in years, an untried but intriguingly priced lasagne (£54 for two....must be good), good vibes in the place, good service, great wine courtesy of halo. Hard to leave. But great and that's not something you find often in London. Worth a trip.”

  “My mate knows Stockwell better than I do. After a pint on the benches out front, he suggested we head in for dinner. Walk-in, weeknight, busy. Lucked out and slid straight into a table at the back without a wait. The front bar, open, worn wood planks, leaded glass wraps around, a cast iron column keeps the ceiling up, pints on the bar and the noise of a decent time. The dining room behind, quieter and darker, candlelit. We shared the seven-hour lamb shoulder, Salt Marsh lamb braised down to give way to a spoon, served on giant couscous that sucked up the cooking liquor. Topped with softened onions and parsley. An affordable Saumur rouge, slight mineral to cut through, hints of fruit to complement but not battle the herbs. Will make another trip south.”

  “I visited The Canton Arms on a rainy Sunday in December 2025. We had to make a reservation in advance, which you can secure one month prior. The venue is split into two areas: the traditional pub and the restaurant/bar area. You can specify your preferred area during booking. We were seated in the restaurant area, but found the table to be slightly on the smaller side for three people. The menu is a highlight—it's extensive and less traditional than many pubs that solely offer roasts on a Sunday. They feature a range of great Gastro pub dishes at affordable prices, and the drinks menu is excellent. Heads up: the menu changes daily, so be prepared! I opted for the roast beef. The beef itself was absolutely delicious, and the overall plate was very tasty. However, don't expect your typical, traditional roast with Yorkshire puddings and cauliflower cheese. Instead, expect a well-cooked dish made with high-quality ingredients. The one slightly disappointing moment was when we asked for more gravy—which feels like a reasonable request—but the staff seemed surprised, and there was an additional £1.50 charge for a tiny portion. There was a great dessert menu. Be aware that the portions are generous, so you might want to share! Overall: The food is great; it's less of a 'traditional' roast experience but offers fantastic Gastro pub fare. The service was only OK, and the restaurant was a bit too hot. Despite these minor issues, I would certainly return for a nice pub meal.”

  “Pub is bright and light yet still feels traditional. I loved the Sunday menu, so many different and unique options on one sheet without flicking through a long menu. There was a dish to please everyone without any dish being boring, which is quite hard to achieved. Food was a 4/5, with some dishes slightly missing the mark - but overall, I’d love to return. The orange rosé was amazing - a must try drink! Lovely Sunday lunch experience, thank you!”

  “Interior was really a nice vibe for dinner. It was super busy so I do recommend booking. Everything on the menu sounded delicious, we had the pork belly and lamb as mains and they were both really good. Amazing portion sizes. They have a great outdoor seating area too. Would go back and recommend.”

  “This English restaurant is decent, although it can get quite noisy and crowded, especially on a Friday evening as we experienced. The food itself is satisfactory, nothing extraordinary, and the portion sizes are also average. As expected in London, the prices are on the higher side, but still within the norm. The desserts offered are satisfactory as well. Overall, while I wasn't particularly impressed, the most important aspect of the evening was the good company and being surrounded by friends, which made the experience enjoyable. We had rabbit, fish asparagus and lasagna.”
