Customer Review Summary
Sunday roast draws the most mentions, with diners describing lamb and chicken roasts loaded with roasted vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and gravy, and another calling the beef really well done. Close behind are the river views toward Parliament and the upstairs private room, where one reviewer hosted an engagement party and praised the canapés with meat, veggie and vegan options. Others mention quesadillas, a veggie burger, real ale, craft beers and a "Beach Please" cocktail, plus staff described as friendly and attentive. One reviewer says the bartender called security on two men bothering a guest, then let her and her friend stay past closing. The recurring caveats are comfort and noise: the live music on a Sunday is described as really loud and makes conversation difficult, the pub can get noisy when everyone is talking, one diner found it hot on a 95 degree day despite fans, and another says trees across the pavement often block the Parliament view. One reviewer also notes the food costs a bit more than elsewhere.

“Fantastic food and service! I had the quesadillas and it was so delicious and super filled with chicken, onions, avocado, onions and cheese! I could have eaten only half and been totally satisfied. My husband had the veggie burger with a side of vegetables and loved it all. The best aspect of this restaurant is the fact that they served the food piping hot! Our server was sweet and attentive. We plan to return tomorrow because I want to taste something called sticky pudding which is apparently made with prunes! FYI If it hadn’t been 95° outside I would have given the atmosphere rating 5 stars. Fans helped but still hot.”

“A traditional pub that's been upgraded to provide an excellent range of food. The Rose is situated on the Albert Embankment, running alongside of the Thames. It has a pleasant view that includes the Houses of Parliament, but this is often blocked by the trees on the opposite pavement. The pub itself is quite cosy, and it can get a bit noisy when everyone is talking. The decor is really special, and it shows that the owners take considerable pride in their premises. The food can work out a bit more expensive than you might find elsewhere, but I found it tasty, really well cooked, with a wide variety of items to please most people. I could fault the service; staff were moving about making sure that everyone was well attended. The drinks are also impressive; they have a decent wine selection, and some very good real ale. If you're in the area, it's worth stopping to check out.”

“This business is actually 2. One on each side of the street. We were at "The Rose Pizzeria" across the street from The Rose and this place has amazing pizza. They dont serve beer here but they do at "The Rose" and our waitress said we can purchase a beer and bring it back over. They do have wines and cocktails though. The pizza here is very authentic and the staff are amazing. We will definitely visit again if we make it back to London.”
