About The Swan
The Swan is a bar at 2A Stockwell Rd in London, set in a 1930s building that houses an Irish-themed nightclub. Live indie, pop and Irish bands play on the premises, and St. Patrick's Day events follow the Irish theme. Entry is through the door, where an entry fee is charged and security staff check people as they arrive. A queue can form outside. Once you leave, there is no re-entry. The team keeps lost property for items left behind.

Customer Review Summary
Security staff dominate the reviews, and opinions split sharply. Several praise bouncers as kind, including one who checked on a friend in a bad state and asked what he could do to help instead of simply removing her, and staff who quietly stepped in for an uncomfortable guest. Critics describe the opposite: one was removed from the queue over chewing gum, another was refused re-entry to find friends after a phone died, and a third called the security staff rude. Close behind, visitors enjoy the fun vibe, the great music and drinks that are well priced, especially around the Irish national holiday, and describe the bar staff as extremely nice. Two people returning after years away found the room empty, missing the buzz and the brilliant bands they remembered, and one felt the Irishness had faded. One visitor who left a pair of glasses behind was contacted and had them waiting in lost property.

“Went to the Swan on Saturday - had a great time. Lost of pair of glasses and they have been really helpful in getting back to me and they have found them in lost property. Really appreciate it - great service”

“Bouncer Sarah kicked me out for chewing gum. Honestly fire her because she’s so nasty, no chewing gum because she’s a massive horrible lady. Don’t even bother because it’s awful, completely invalid reason as I didn’t even have gum in my bag but asked if i could chew it before she threw it away, was instantly removed from the queue and told i couldn’t come in.”

“I want to share how excellent one of the security members of the team was. My friend was in a bad state and this security member was excellent in seeing that she was ok. Instead of just removing her from the building he checked and made sure at every step he that she was ok and asked what he could do to help. I wish I got his name, he was truly excellent and I wish all security staff were as great as him for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of patrons.”

“I used to go to the Swan years ago and encouraged my kids to go now they’re old enough and with my niece. It’s such a shame how it’s gone so down hill, the fact it was empty wasn’t the worst part it was the shocking behaviour of the security staff. They were rude especially the fella who stole my nieces ID and refused to give it back. We’ve logged a complaint with the police and waiting to hear back. Do not bother going here, it seems it’s lost its happy friendly atmosphere and Irishness which is so sad.”

“The vibe here is so much fun!! We came for St. Patrick’s Day and will definitely be coming back. Drinks are well priced and the music is great! Bouncers Alex and Jean-Paul are super kind.”
