About Pump House
Pump House is a pub on Albert Dock in Liverpool, set in a restored red-brick former hydraulic pump station at Royal Albert Dock with views over the water. Part of the Greene King pub group, it has tall tables with stools near the bar and a second floor with smaller seating areas. Orders are placed at the bar or through an app. The drinks list covers beers, ales, ciders and other brews, including a plum porter. In the kitchen, roast dinners come with beef rump or turkey, and the menu also lists vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options. Reservations are possible, and lunchtime can get busy. Dogs are welcome inside.

Customer Review Summary
The restored dockside building and its waterfront views draw the most comment, with reviewers calling it lovely inside and praising window seats over the water. Drinks come close behind, including a plum porter one reviewer loved and a good spread of beers, ales and ciders. Food gets mixed reports. A burger with crispy chips earns praise, though it arrived not very hot, a cheese toastie was not toasted, and a veggie chilli had hardly any mushrooms. A beef rump Sunday roast disappointed one diner with four thin slices of barely warm meat, while a group needing gluten-free roasts could only have turkey, with chips swapped in for roasties and the veg not gluten-free. Ordering draws complaints too: one party sat a while without seeing staff, and another found the bar service cold and abrupt. Most still describe the staff as friendly and welcoming, and one reviewer suggests reserving on weekends. One family arriving late with a newborn still found their table held.

“Spent a few hours a day here over the last few days. Using one of there spaces as a make-shift office while in the city. Genuinely lovely pub, with a good menu and range of drinks. Staff are all really lovely, especially Sue (NOT SUSAN!) and made my dog and I feel very welcome. Will certainly visit again next time I’m in the city.”

“Nice place to meet and have a good time while drinking a well sorted range of different brews. Service is fast and friendly, music a little loud. Tables could be cleaned more often. Good view on the water.”

“Ordered 4 roasts, 2 of them was gluten-free. So we could only have turkey and even had to swap roasties for chips This is what we got and still charged us full price £15.95.. CRAZY even the veg wasn't gluten-free 🤯🤯”

“My first visit of Liverpool. An incredible, iconic venue with a great location! We were lucky enough to get the best table in the bar. However, the beef rump Sunday roast was quite disappointing. It turned out to be just four thinly sliced pieces of meat, weighing no more than 150g in total. What made it worse was that the meat was barely warm.On the plus side, there is a good selection of beers, ales, and ciders — I absolutely loved the plum porter. Thank you. Kyiv Lugansk from Ukraine with love”
