  “The grapes in my opinion is the best pub on Matthew street it's lively and all the staff bar staff entertainment staff glass collectors and door staff are friendly ' The locals are really friendly iv met some good people inside and out side the grapes I end up in there for hours”

  “Spent 3 nights in the Grapes with 5 friends in their 60's. Really nice pub with great Kareoke hosted by a fabulous DJ. Granted we were the last leaving the last night and while leaving one of the door men put his hand on me and went to hoosh me out the door. I fully objected to this and told him that you never ever put your hand on people and need to be urgently retrained. It's awful that these type of hired hands can ruin what was otherwise a great experience.”

  “A great pub in the Cavern Quarter of Liverpool. It has great atmosphere and to think that this was the Beatles watering hole while playing at the Cavern is mind blowing. I went early one Monday after I visited the Beatles Museum next door. To have a pint of Guinness while sitting in the seats the Beatles would of occupied is something that will be in my memory forever.”

  “The bar itself is nice but the door staff are worse type I've ever encountered, how they treated us was wrong, they knew it and covered up their armbands so we could take photos of them. Find a new company to do the door before someone gets hurts.”

  “The best place in the cavern area. Karaoke is ace. Crowd is fantastic, everyone's really friendly and fun and funny. It's a really great craic. We always end up here when we come to Liverpool. It's just ace.”

  “Have been several times over last few years and had fun in the past but not this time. The whole point is to have fun with karaoke but the DJ was terrible. Basically made it a platform for him and his friends who clearly couldn't make it as professional singers but need a stage. The same guys sang over and over while others waited hours. The DJ was incomprehensible when he called people's names. The system of choosing songs is unclear. People put their requests on little pieces of paper and the DJ basically ignores them or just chooses the ones he wants. Was there 2 hours and didn't get my request even though it wasn't very crowded. This was Friday May 22nd 2026 fyi”

  “We loved this pub, great atmosphere. There was Karoke on the night we were there which was great fun. When we eventually left I couldn't find my jacket which had been left on the back of a chair. I gave up hope of ever seeing it again but my wife insisted on asking the staff to look out for it. I couldn't believe it when Isha called to say it had been found. My wife gave our address and a couple of days later it arrived by post, brilliant! We love this place and will be sure to spend time there again next time we are in Liverpool. Thanks so much Isha X!”

  “Went in here for my mums birthday. We've been in loads because we love Karaoke. We've bought a pint and whilst I was at the bar I asked how long the Karaoke would be and he said they've turned it off and it will be around half an hour to an hour as they were on a break I asked whether I could stand there and play with the decks and keep the atmosphere going for my mum and the young fella behind the bar said I could mess with it as it wasn't turned on. Then a lady came over shouting at me asking why I was messing with the decks. I explained. She asked the guy behind the bar and he denied it even though he'd just said it. She then shouted in my face and called me a liar. We drank our drinks and went to Coopers bar instead. Friendly staff and actually let you do Karaoke without waiting hours or getting yelled at.”

  “Stopped by The Grapes for drinks and had a great time. Proper cosy pub with loads of character and a really good atmosphere. Drinks were spot on and fairly priced, and the staff were friendly and easygoing. One of those places you can happily lose track of time in. Definitely a solid shout if you’re in Liverpool 🍻”

  “Classic City Centre pub that feels relaxing the minute your walk inside. Great service and a decent range of beers at good prices. It was too warm for the outside seats the day of our visit so we sat inside just in time for the Karaoke to start up . Been a long time since my last visit here but it won’t be long before I return this time .”
