About The George Inn, Langworth

The George Inn, Langworth is a pub on Main Road in Langworth, near Lincoln, and the business dates its history to 1780. The inside has been recently refurbished. The kitchen cooks food at home on site, and pie is served as a main, with steak and stilton among the fillings. A pie and a pint special pairs the dish with a drink. Real ales are on the bar, and a wine selection sits alongside them. The pub holds a quiz night, and tables can be reserved, including through messenger.

Customer Review Summary

Diners most often praise the pies, with the pie and a pint special and a steak and stilton version singled out, and the steak and mash also getting approval. Pork belly, a burger with a lightly grilled bun and plenty of chips, a sticky toffee pudding and a hash brown found for one visitor between servings come up too. Reviewers describe friendly, welcoming staff, a refurbished interior they call tastefully decorated and relaxed, and a Monday quiz several say they return for. One reviewer notes staff handled a disruptive group during the quiz calmly. A few mention that the pub is dog friendly and that Sunday dinner can get busy, with one suggesting booking. The negatives are specific. One breakfast reviewer waited a long while, then found tiny mushrooms, a single rasher of bacon, half-toasted bread and dry, hard black pudding, plus a coffee short on milk. Another found overcooked food and inattentive staff for the prices. Even so, one visitor was handed a hash brown outside breakfast hours.

“Just finished a quiz here and it was pleasant as usual. Lovely atmosphere and a majorly inappropriate disturbance was dealt with efficiently to keep the vibes of the quiz up☺️ We come here often and we love this quiz! Lovely staff, kind and considerate who are always happy to help. Thank you to the wonderful staff for everything you do and entertaining me on a Monday! From 1 member of the Full of Beans team”

“Really nice Sunday dinner and I thoroughly enjoyed the sticky toffee pudding! It was a little busy so I would recommend booking but that is obviously because it is a nice place with good food.”

“4th visit and won’t be my last, despite a poorly behaved group of women trying to ruin the quiz. I’ve now visited for lunch, dinner & dinner & quiz. The staff are very friendly, they’ve responded very quickly when I’ve used messenger to reserve a table. The food is tasty & well cooked, I had the pie this time which was lovely as was the mash! This week there was a group of very immature women on a hen party, they tried their hardest to upset both the diners & the quiz players but failed, the staff were mature & rose above the embarrassing behaviour. Good selection of wines too. Dog friendly too”

“Dropped in for a coffee on a Sunday morning, whilst in the village. Unfortunately I was between Breakfast and Lunch servings, but the staff managed to find me the most delicious Hash Brown (and I am a connoisseur). A nice flat white. Lovely decor and very friendly staff! I will book in for a Sunday Lunch soon!”

“Nice place no atmosphere, but clean .but coffee was in a large cup with not enough milk ,had to ask for more! Breakfast arrived about 30 mins later after we had finished our coffee ,mushrooms was that small I personally would not have bothered cooking them , only 1 rasher of bacon which we ordered was covered in cooked salt water ,I did order bread and butter ,it came one side soft one side hard like it's either half toasted or old bread .black pudding was that hard to cut and dry i had to use the bean juice to eat it so far in my life this is the worst Breakfast I've ever had but a nice place !!!!”
