Customer Review Summary
Diners most often praise generous, well-priced pub plates, with the bacon cheeseburger's massive, juicy patty and the sausage and mash with lots of gravy singled out. Others name the slow roasted pork belly, battered halloumi, a perfectly seasoned 8oz steak swapped to mash, and a crispy duck salad. Several call the value a bargain, including a children's menu with starter, main, side and pudding. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly and attentive, and the garden and the chilled but vibrant atmosphere also earn mentions. The sharpest complaint comes from one reviewer who faced a long wait in the garden for a niçoise tuna salad that arrived without the green beans, olives, cherry tomatoes or soft boiled eggs in its description, with a rotten leaf and no apology or refund offered. Smaller notes include an overdone burger, ribs with the sauce added after cooking, a limited cider selection, and cigarette smoke drifting into the indoor seating. One group of nine at a roast with a huge quad meat platter had a dairy intolerance catered for.

“this is great place to eat lunch, dinner, or even a few drinks. the garden is nice, and the food is great. its not going to win any world class medals for the food, but it knows exactly what it is and exactly what it isn't. for the price you pay, the food is very good, especially compared to some other gastropubs that will charge you more, and ESPECIALLY compared to some of the restatuants in leamington town. For example, i ordered an 8oz steak. The steak came out perfectly seasoned, cooked medium rate beautifully. They were happy enough to accomodate me changing my chips for mash. lovely place”

“A very lovely pub, lots of space whether inside or out. A nice chilled but vibrant atmosphere. Staff were friendly, attentive and quick. The price was great, we had a starter with some extra bread for the houmous, two mains, 4 cokes and service charge for £30 each. The menu had many options that it took a bit of time to decide what we wanted. The burger meat from the bacon cheeseburger was massive, a very chunky piece and very juicy. The sausage and mash was excellent, lots of gravy, creamy mash and might I say a 'banger' sausage. I will 100% go back if I travel near the area again.”

“Went for the first time today and safe to say we will be back! Delicious food, generous portion and great value. Staffs were friendly and helpful. We had a great time! We also enjoyed looking at the pictures of old Leamington in the walls. Only comment for improvement is that we chose to sit inside to avoid having people smoking around us but the cigarette smell still got blown into the indoor seating area; we have little ones with us and it wasn’t pleasant. Understand that it’s summer and doors need to be opened but maybe have designated smoking tables/area further away from the doors leading to indoor seating would help.”

“What a wonderful dining experience! The foods are tasty with outstanding decorations. You got a top range food with such a bargain price. Beautiful cocktails and nice service. A remarkable gem in Leamington Spa.”

“We went today for a drink and meal being so hot and thought we would all enjoy the lovely food in the garden. What a disappointment to say the least…. Ordered at 18:45 to have food being served at 19:40 not a single mention of the wait at the point of ordering. I ordered the niçoise tuna salad as main dish- £18 - I was looking forward to have lovely green beans soft boiled eggs cherry tomatoes, new potatoe, pitted olives with a nice piece of tuna After a hour wait, the plate I was brought was only a piece of tuna with some lettuce leaves some red onions cucumbers and such a small quantity of potatoes that I didn’t even see there were some in my plate No green beans, pitted olives, cherry tomatoes or soft boiled eggs as per the description When I tried to complain to the waitress she didn’t even apologise and just offered to bring me a plate of green beans Which took that long that when I finally was served the plate I already finished my salad !! Not to add that one of the salad leaf was rotten inside my plate I had no apology or offer for refund whilst the owner of the place was enjoying some drinks sat at one of the tables outside !! I won’t come back any time soon for food There is seriously something wrong with management of this place”
