About The Benjamin Satchwell
The Benjamin Satchwell is a Wetherspoon pub at 112-114 The Parade in Leamington Spa. Customer Review Summary
Reviewers come mainly for the cheap drinks, especially the beer on tap, with a wide range of ales, spirits and cocktails that several say costs less than elsewhere in Leamington. Food gets a mixed response. One reviewer loved the chicken wings basket and nachos, another praised a crispy bacon breakfast with a hot drink, and a child enjoyed the Cookie Crunch Ice Cream, while others call the food decent but not great for the price. Ordering through the app brings drinks to the table, which one reviewer found quick. The pub is busy, with tables hard to find, some uncleared tables and slow service at the bar, and a few describe the lighting as dark and a funky smell at times. The sharpest complaints concern staff. One diner got a cold eggs benedict replaced with the same plate microwaved, and another was charged for a drink the waiter got wrong, after which security stood beside the group.

“Popped over from Rugby for some brekkie before our journey back home to Surrey. Brekkie was delish. Bacon 🥓 was crispy 😋, toast was toasty, freedom breakfast, and a hot drink, perfect on a miserable rainy 🌧 day in may before hopping onto the motorway 🛣.”

“Place for everyone 🙌🫠 Well known and I would recommend it, especially for a budget , yet it's somewhat better than some more expensive places. Quite known around.”

“Benjamin Satchwell Wetherspoons in Leamington is pretty much exactly what you expect from a Wetherspoons. The food is decent enough and does the job, but the main selling point is definitely the drink selection and prices. A round of 5 drinks for under £25 these days is hard to argue with, especially in Leamington Spa. Never fully understood the hype around Spoons personally, but for cheap drinks, quick service, and somewhere easy to meet mates, it works well. There’s a huge range of beers, spirits, and cocktails available which is probably why it stays busy. A few downsides: the lighting inside is quite dark, there’s no pub garden, and there’s a bit of a funky smell at times. Also think the atmosphere would improve massively with some background music. Still, you generally know what you’re getting with a Wetherspoons and for the price it’s hard to complain too much.”

“Expectedly a very busy pub on a Bank Holiday Monday lunchtime, and very difficult to find a table despite the adequate size of the place. Service was good considering the circumstances. A sad atmosphere despite the crowds, but a great selection of reasonably priced beer on tap as always. My daughter also enjoyed her Cookie Crunch Ice Cream dessert.”

“Service was horrible waiter was rude got a drink wrong on his behalf and made us pay for it even though it was his mistake and we hadn’t realised because I meet who ordered had left as we explained apologised he was still so rude then went over to the table the drinks were made for and chatted about our group to them. It was unnecessary as we paid for it with no hesitation. He was rude and served us poorly a poly major drink. Security then stood constantly next to us made us fully uncomfortable by giving us unneeded books and targeting while we were trying to enjoy our time”
