  “We tried to eat there on Sunday afternoon. But after telling us they serve food till 5.30 (we tried to order 5.15) it turned out they only serve preordered food on Sundays. I think they simply just wanted to close kitchen sooner. Should have just say that. Made us feel uncomfortable. I saw other people eating food.”

  “I recently visited the Red Lion Pub in Pickmere and was extremely disappointed with both the customer service and the misleading meal offer. The promotion advertised “2 main meals for £25,” and nowhere was it clearly stated that the steak was excluded from the deal. However, when we went to pay, we were suddenly told that the steak did not qualify for the offer. When I questioned this, the supervisor simply looked at me and said, “I can’t do anything, other people have said the same.” That response alone shows they are clearly aware the offer is misleading. I then asked to speak to the manager, only to be told the manager wasn’t there and that she was the supervisor. I wasn’t willing to let it go because it was clearly not our fault, and only after arguing the point did they finally agree to honour the advertised offer and charge us the £25. The whole situation was handled very poorly. The customer service was shocking, staff were dismissive, and the promotion was falsely advertised or at the very least badly communicated. If certain meals are excluded, it should be made clearly visible before customers order, not only mentioned when it’s time to pay. Overall, a very frustrating experience that completely spoiled the visit.”

  “We visited Red Lion sunday with friends. Staff was friendly and even was really busy and we had no reservation they found table for us very quickly. Very nice atmosphere. We ordered food and drinks. Drinks came pretty quickly, food took a bit longer, but it was very busy, so we did understand. We had coliflower wings and soup all of us the same to make it easy for chef. Soup was delicious.. coliflower was a bit disappointing as the portions were very small for £7 photo attached. We believe that the kitchen probably runned out off coliflower and split one portion between 4 of us lol. This is the only reason for 4 starts as that portion never supposed to leave the kitchen. Review update We went to red lion Sunday 15th of February again. Service was amazing food was amazing atmosphere was amazing. I'm glad I can change this review to 5 starts.”

  “Saturday lunchtime with the pug. Very good menu. Lots to choose from so it took a while. Partner had steak and ale pie and I had ham, egg and chips. All lovely. Huge outside area. Dog friendly. Will be back soon.”
