About The White Bear
The White Bear is a pub at 1 Canute Pl in Knutsford, pouring real ales and Murphy's stout on tap. The kitchen cooks home-style food with ingredients from local suppliers. Murphy's Burgers are grass fed smash burgers, and the pizza list includes a Pepperoni and Nduja. Karaoke nights give the pub a stage for singers, and the ceiling is very low. A dartboard is on hand for games, and live sport from Sky Sports and BT is shown. Table service is offered when possible, and dogs are welcome. The pub has been recently refurbished.

Customer Review Summary
Pizza draws the most praise, with the Pepperoni and Nduja singled out and one reviewer who is not usually a pizza fan calling it the best in a long time. Close behind are the grass fed smash burgers from the kitchen, which another reviewer calls incredible. Others mention beer battered haddock with hand cut chips, a Sunday dinner, and pies on the bar, plus a stout on tap that makes a nice change from Guinness. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly and welcoming, and one reviewer notes table service when possible. The beer garden has some covered seating. Complaints are fewer but specific. One visitor found the venue cramped, and another was let down by the darts setup, with no raised oche or throw line and lighting that blocked the board, though karaoke on a Saturday night went down well. Two reviewers mention the low ceiling, one joking that it takes a limbo dance to reach the bar.

“Unfortunately, we didn’t come here to eat because the food looked really nice as it came out. The venue wasn’t really for me, it felt a bit cramped but the drinks were reasonably priced and the service was fast. Maybe food aswell next time.”

“I have literally just finished a pizza and it was the best I’ve had in a long time. I’m not a pizza lover but this hit the spot and I’ll definitely be back for another. Also the staff are awesome. Definitely go check them out 🤍🐻”

“Such a lovely, cosy pub with the friendliest staff who are always welcoming and happy to help, and when possible they even offer table service. There’s a great outdoor seating area for the summer, and inside is traditional and inviting. The burgers are incredible, and it has a real community feel. One of those places you instantly feel comfortable in – highly recommend.”
