About Laurieston Bar
Laurieston Bar is a pub at 58 Bridge St in Glasgow, close to Bridge Street Subway Station. The interior is traditional and looks unchanged, with artworks on the walls. On the bar, cask ale from Fyne Ales includes Jarl and Hurricane Jack, and Murphy's is also on tap alongside them. Payment is cash only, so drinkers need to arrive with notes or coins rather than a card. Dogs are welcome, which makes it an option for people out with a pet.

Customer Review Summary
The cask ale draws most reviewers, with McEwan's 80/- and Jarl singled out, and Hurricane Jack from Fyne Ales also earns praise alongside a good choice of beers. Close behind is the unchanged traditional interior, described as a time warp with interesting artworks on every wall, and the friendly bar staff and regulars. Some sit outside in good weather, and one describes a quiet early afternoon with plenty of seats. A Guinness 0.0 gets a mention from one visitor, and another says the Irish stout pint is cheaper than Guinness. Cash only comes up repeatedly, and reviewers frame it as something to remember before arriving. The one negative review says the crowd has changed, describing a young, trendy clientele and an atmosphere that no longer suits a longtime visitor who won't return. Reviewers also note that the pub is busy, and one says the service was perfect on a Saturday morning with no television on.

“Popped in before going to the Citizen's Theatre. Great Choice. My first Guinness 0.0 and my daughter had the draught . Bar staff were brilliant, friendly exuberant clientele. Going back for a longer session. Bravo 👏”

“My god. How this place has changed. Looks like the watering hole they stop in on their migration from Byres Rd to Vicky Rd. I hadn't been in this place for years. I was the only one by myself and the only one over 40. So young n trendy and hop to the beat daddies crowd. Won't be in there again Has bece a supercool starship for hipsters and walking talking oxfam clothes racks and mobile art works.”

“An iconic Scottish boozer, vital to visit for any pub lover. Magnificently maintained late 70s/early 80s interior & exterior with a plethora of interesting artworks on every wall. Pint of Murphy's is grand (quid cheaper than Guinness) but the McEwan's 80/- is an absolute joy. Cash only, never saw any telly on (11am Saturday) and service was perfect. Overall I cannot describe the greatness off this place , but it's in my top 5 in the land”

“Excellent bar with a very friendly and helpful bar team, some outdoor seating (it was a very pleasant sunny day so this was a bonus) and some great cask ales. This was on my list of must visit local bars in Glasgow and it certainly didn't disappoint. If you love real ale and are in Glasgow then definitely add this place to your visit list too.”

“Can never get enough of this bar. Cask ale (Jarl) always on form, bar staff and the regulars are great. Long may it stay this way 🤞~ Cash only.”
