About Drum & Monkey Glasgow

Drum & Monkey Glasgow is a traditional pub in Glasgow at 91 St Vincent St, run as part of the Nicholson's pub company with old-fashioned decor. Gluten-free beers are on tap, so guests avoiding gluten can order a pint alongside everyone else. Customer Review Summary

Haggis, neeps and tatties is the dish reviewers name most, with one praising it as very good and a generous appetiser portion, and another calling the food decent. Close behind are a beef brisket burger, a pie and sticky toffee pudding from a diner who found the food excellent, plus cocktails, with one pornstar martini singled out as among the best that reviewer had tasted. Live music on Sundays draws praise, as does a tap list with four gluten free beers. Staff are described as friendly, quick and attentive, and one reviewer welcomes that the pub is dog friendly. The recurring complaints concern cost and crowding. Reviewers call the prices high, with one citing a pint of lager that made the pub feel dearer than expected, and another was disappointed it belongs to a larger pub company. A couple struggled to find a seat at first, and a diner who booked said the dining area has few tables and the atmosphere felt too busy. One visitor on a quiet weekday afternoon thought the staff looked bored, and another noted the spiral stairs down to the toilets.

“Couldn't get a seat at first but once we did we had a great day/night. Bar staff are quick and attentive. We had some food which was really nice to. Good live entertainment on.”
  • Maggie Harrison
“We were looking for a pub experience and this was good, however we were bummed to find it was owned by a parent company. We did the ordering directly to the table, so didn’t interact with the staff too much. Prices were high, however portions were generous. The haggis, neeps, and tatties were very good. Pictured is the appetizer sized portion which was more than enough.”

“What a bloody delightful pub! Tip off from a taxi driver led me to live music here on Sundays from 4 and it did not disappoint - incredible music - delicious food and wine and olde worlde old fashioned decor - exactly what a pub should be! Get yourself down here on a Sunday - you won’t regret it! 🎶 🍻 🎻”
