About The Greedy Banker
The Greedy Banker is a pub on High St in Gillingham, set in a former Barclays Bank building painted black inside, with a bar and tables in a compact room. The drinks list covers craft beer on tap and in cans, a cider menu, European lagers, cocktails and wines. The food menu includes burgers and cheesesteaks, plus loaded fries that come with hot dips such as gravy and hot naga cheese. Sharing trays put burgers and loaded fries together with a side. TVs and large screens carry live sport, including football, rugby, cricket, F1 and darts. The kitchen also runs monthly specials.

Customer Review Summary
Burgers draw the most praise at The Greedy Banker, with several calling them among the best they have eaten, and loaded fries close behind. Reviewers also single out the sharing platters and trays of burgers, tenders, onion rings and fries as good value. One describes garlic and buffalo tenders, big fluffy onion rings, and gravy and hot naga cheese dips. A monthly special of a Surf'n'Turf burger with prawns and coconut shrimp gets a mention, along with a wide craft beer and cider selection and large screens showing sport. Dogs are welcomed, with one reviewer given a water bowl and a biscuit. The building's former life as a bank leaves a black-painted, office-like interior that one finds sparse and cold, with no hot drinks available, and another says it gets busy quickly. The sharpest complaint comes from a Friday night visit with few staff, no one at the bar, a long wait for a feast tray and a cold Stilton burger. In a different account, management found a wedding party a room within half an hour and the kitchen served everyone quickly.

“Been coming here since day one for the 2022 World Cup, can’t beat the food and drink. Best burgers I’ve eaten and fortunately right on my doorstep.”

“I honestly can’t thank The Greedy Banker enough for saving my sister in law's wedding reception. After being let down by another venue with virtually no notice, we were desperately trying to find somewhere that could accommodate a large group. Within just 30 minutes, the management at The Greedy Banker had arranged for us to hire the Bullion Bar, and from that moment on, everything was perfect. The room was spotless, the management couldn’t have been more helpful, and every single member of staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The bar staff were absolutely lovely, and despite the last-minute booking, the kitchen produced delicious food incredibly quickly for everyone. What could have ended as a disaster turned into a fantastic evening thanks to the whole team. They genuinely made our night and gave my sister the wedding reception she deserved. I can’t recommend The Greedy Banker highly enough. If you’re looking for a venue with amazing staff, great food, excellent service and management who truly care about their customers, this is the place to go. Thank you all so much for turning such a stressful situation into a wonderful memory.”

“Excellent food, good service, we will come back again for sure. Probably one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The only thing I’d change is to have no parmesan cheese on the mozzarella sticks. But otherwise a great meal. The sharing platter is good value for money.”

“So I compare ever other burger I have anywhere to the Greedy Banker. This is my all time favourite burger and wing joint ever and the beer selection is massive. The staff are always great and with a sports bar vibe it's super relaxed with plenty of entertainment on the TVs. They have specials every month which are always worth trying. Whatever you do consider getting the sharing trays with burgers, loaded fries and a side it's awesome value for money. They are also Dog friendly! Enjoy!”

“Well where to start. First time here been looking forward to it for my birthday. Very very disappointed. Hardly any staff on a Friday night. There was no one behind bar had to wait for him to get ice while 4 people waited to order. One walked out. Then when trying to order 3 staff members decided to have a reunion behind the bar screaming with excitement so bartender with beard and I had to shout to each other. Waited 45 mins for our feast tray to come out. When it did 1 Stilton burger was cold. No-one to check food was OK, service staff were non existing. So overpriced , poor service long wait. No checkbacks , chef sorry but could do better with food timings. Took my money ok but I couldn't eat the crap served to me. £85 birthday evening paid for and to be honest better service at McDonald's, stay clear!!”
