  “I popped into this bar because it was the closest to my hotel. I was expecting a squaddie filled bar. Lots of hard core drinkers (not squaddies, all yocals). Great choice of beers, great staff and great bar. Whilst some of the yocals were pissed the staff, manager, and gorgeous bar maid were very welcoming. The prices were good and atmosphere was great, wish I was driving the next morning.”

  “I stayed in a nearby hotel and went into The Cannon on the recommendation of the hotel staff when I asked for a nearby pub that does good cask ales. The Cannon is a nice neigborhood pub with excelent beer and a very nice and welcoming atmosphere. I planned to have one pint but stayed several hours and even got to enjoy some really good live music.”

  “Extremely disappointed with the service here. I stood at the bar for nearly 10 minutes, and despite the staff serving people who arrived after me, I was completely ignored. It’s one thing to be busy, but to be invisible to the staff is another. I eventually had to just walk out without being served. On top of the poor service, I overheard that a pint of lager is £6.70, which is a massive 'stodge' for a local corner house. I review pubs as part of my business, this one is local and I was just passing. Not impressed. I won't be back.”

  “We enjoyed a few pints here on a Sunday evening - it was surprisingly busy. Drinks were not bad price. The pub itself has lots to offer - there is a large seating area outside (at back). There is a pool table, a dart board, some TV's, and a juke box. The pub has the bar in the centre and feels like it's split in half - one side is a bit quieter than the other! Nice pub and it felt a bit unique / unusual from other pubs we have been in.”
