About The Forest Inn
The Forest Inn is a country pub on Forest Links Rd in Ferndown, set on the Ferndown Forest Golf Course site along the Castleman trail. The grounds also hold a driving range and padel tennis, so a round or a match can sit alongside a meal. Pizza ovens outside produce pizzas in the evening. Indoors, two main dining areas serve breakfasts and coffee, including a Full Dorset Breakfast with sourdough toast. The kitchen also cooks brisket chilli and a pasta of the day, which has been pulled pork mac and cheese. Guests order food and drinks at the bar, and the team brings the food to the table. Payment is taken at the bar as well.

Customer Review Summary
Breakfast is what most reviewers return for, with the Full Dorset Breakfast on sourdough toast praised as hot, well presented and perfectly cooked, and breakfasts and coffee called lovely. Close behind are the burgers, the brisket chilli, crispy chips with a fluffy middle, and the pulled pork mac and cheese with loaded fries, which diners describe as tasty in good portions. Outdoor seating in the evening sun, outside dining booths and the pizzas are also mentioned, along with the driving range, padel tennis and golf course nearby. Staff are repeatedly called friendly, though the criticism is specific. One reviewer says two counter staff were curt over a black coffee with cold milk that came out milky, and the correct one arrived only after several other coffees were made for a birthday breakfast. Another found the rice with the sweet and sour chicken special bland and undercooked, with staff looking rushed on a Saturday. One was disappointed by the drinks, with only Prosecco and no dry cider, and a server asking if dry gin was like dry cider.

“Disappointing drinks selection. No champagne, cava or cremant, only Prosecco, and no dry cider. The staff didn’t understand the drinks, and asked if dry gin was similar to dry cider…!”

“🕓 I visited The Forest Inn at Ferndown Forest Golf Course on Saturday 30 May 2026 on a beautiful sunny morning, a weekend during half term. I was with one other person. I have been here for breakfast a handful of times over the years. 🅿️ I parked in the on-site car park - parking was easy. 🍽 The restaurant comprises of two fairly large main dining areas and various outdoor areas, some covered, some not, with plenty of tables. You order your food and drinks at the bar and food is brought to your table. The restaurant was bright and clean. 🤗 The team were friendly and welcoming and I had no issues - we got everything we expected in good time and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. 🥓 I enjoyed the Full Dorset Breakfast with sourdough toast and a cup of tea. The food arrived hot, was well presented and tasted really good. There was a good selection of food and I found something that appealed to me easily. 💷 The food was reasonable value for money, I paid around £17 for the breakfast and drink. ⭐️ Overall I really enjoyed my visit and will definitely come and visit again. ⏳️ I spent around 1½ hours here.”

“Good experience overall. We reserved our table and had to find it ourselves there was no meet and greet or head waiter for the restaurant. Pay at the bar. The rice for the sweet and sour chicken was bland and undercooked. This was supposed to be a special of the day! The staff looked rushed off their feet Saturday afternoon/evening. Gents toilets were messy I don’t think anyone goes in to check on a regular basis.”
