Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often praise the setting, a seat by the window or outside on the promenade with the beach and sea in view, and a cosy stone-walled interior with blankets in winter. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly and welcoming, and diners single out the pasta with seafood and tempura shrimps as delicious, along with huge portions and a traditional Scottish breakfast. The cakes, which look home made, draw praise even from critical reviewers. Complaints centre on value and consistency. One diner received poached eggs with salmon where the eggs were not poached and the salmon was dry, was told by a waitress that she doesn't work in the kitchen, and also found chipped coffee cups. Another describes a salad as basically a share of a supermarket bag of chopped salad, and a third found the fish and chips batter soggy. Two reviewers call staff rude or unfriendly, and several call the place expensive. Even so, one parent notes that the kids' menu fish and chips came substantial, with a drink and ice cream included.

“Always enjoy our time here. Sit outside on the promenade and watch time go by or sit inside if its a cold or wet day. Service is always very good. Friendly staff who may be busy but always have time for you. Toilets are also a bonus. They take cash or Card payments. We have visited on multiple occasions. Oh, did I mention, there's a huge sandy beach right beside you and, of course, the sea. What more could you ask for.”

“Absolutely amazing experience! From the moment we walked in, we felt incredibly welcomed. The atmosphere is cozy and charming, making it the perfect spot for a relaxed dinner. The staff was attentive, friendly, and happy to give recommendations. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and a wonderful vibe. We will definitely be back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐”

“Not a happy review to write, but my experience at Miro’s was not super pleasant and I wouldn’t go back. When I was there, staff seemed a bit rude and unfriendly. I wonder if the work environment simply made them this way based on a few other reviews I had read about a manager, but still I think you should treat customers kindly, as someone who has worked in roles like this you can’t take anger out on customers. Food was nothing extremely bad but definitely wasn’t impressive, and the price was a bit much for food and drinks based on quality. area itself is nice of course, but the combination of mediocre food, poor service, and high prices is not a very pleasant one. I won’t come back sadly.”

“Under no circumstances order a salad! Charged £9.50 for a salad that is basically a share of a £1.50 bag of supermarket chopped salad. Ridiculously expensive and zero imagination. Cakes looked good, but I opted to go elsewhere with my business after the salad experience.”

“What a nice place hidden on the shores of Edinburgh. Portions are huge and delicious. Service is nice. Seating area is well designed and welcoming. You can get all traditional Scottish breakfast items plus additional treats. If you are in the area by any chance this is the place to get some good food.”
