  “Zhan's is a delightful discovery in the heart of Leith. I'll start with the ambience: a little old world, a little whimsical and entirely charming. Delicious pastry (cooked and brought fresh out of the over in front of you), the breakfast was delicious and the porridge was perfect. This is our favorite breakfast place in all of Leith and not to be missed. The charm of the owner is simply the cherry on top.”

  “What a wee gem. Home cooked food by the lovely Dharia. Homely, welcoming, and not pretentious like the eateries on the main road. Dharia is just like a mum to her regulars. I'll definitely be back if I'm in Leith again”

  “I absolutely love this magic wee place. It's so rare to find somewhere in the city which is so authentic with TRULY home made food (Made with love & care). Super dog friendly too which is a huge plus. The decor is very special, soulful and homely - and the coffee is a good size and piping HOT; which I love, as most places these days give a tiny lukewarm coffee for £4+. Located across from the mystical shop "Portal", this Leith cafe certainly feels like a little portal of it's own which takes you to another world outside of Edinburgh. Or maybe this is just how Edinburgh SHOULD feel? Relaxed and European. Thank you!”

  “The best food and hospitality. Daria is a wonderful host and super friendly. My dog adores her. The food and coffee are the best in Leith. Would highly recommend getting my coffee and lunch most days, always a warm welcome.”

  “What a gem of a find. Couldn't have picked a better way to start the morning than with breakfast at this cafe. The vegan breakfast was VAST and delicious, the three egg omelette was done just how I like it, and the Turkish delight with the coffee was a pleasant surprise. Everything made fresh too, and worth the wait whilst Daria did her thing. Definitely will be coming back!”

  “Best gluten free brownie I’ve ever had! Owned by a Bulgarian lady who makes all the pastries by hand and with love. She was so kind and attentive! The cafe is not fancy but the food and service and cleanliness are all top notch. Bonus, she LOVES dogs!”

  “Amazing! We stopped here for breakfast and coffee and are very happy we did. The breakfasts were hearty and delicious, the Turkish coffee spot on and the owner made us feel so very welcome. Will definitely be back.”

  “This super cute hole in the wall is worth the stop. I was presently greated by this lovely lady who made me feel like home. I had a delicious breakfast paired with a real Turkish coffee. Great food, cozy atmosphere and wonderful welcoming service! Highly recommend!”
