  “First time at Bodega and we were blown away!!! The food was incredible and the staff were so lovely and friendly. It was really busy as it was a Friday night so I'm sure that they were rushed off their feet but they never failed to be so nice and chilled. The food is truly something else, I've never enjoyed a meal so much in years. My partner actually nearly cried when she had a bite of the potato skewer, it was so good!! Everything was unbelievably delicious. The cocktails were superb too, the mezcal negroni was unreal. We will definitely be back.”

  “Excellent experience at Bodega last night. Food, tequila flights and service were all excellent. Special thanks to our server who ran around all night to a packed restaurant and still had time to go through the menu and recommend, have some fun chat and all with a smile!”

  “Food was so good! Tacos were piled high (truly there was enough for three tacos instead of two) and hashbrowns were nice and crispy. Super cute inside and the staff were all lovely”

  “Fantastic food!! The skewered potatoes were out of this world as were the fish tacos and the short rib of beef. Ditto the corn ribs. Could not fault any aspect of the whole experience. The staff are super lovely and nice friendly vibe all round. Defo be back”

  “What a lovely place, great food and great portion size. Value for money! The staff were brilliant, funny and looked after us. They even wrapped our to-go taco as a beautiful swan!”

  “Fabulous place for a fun meal with friends or family , great food and superb friendly service , now an auto book when we get into Edinburgh, we tried all the tacos and sides and 4 of the not tacos on our last visit and were impressed with every single one , highlight personally was the buffalo chicken taco and the potato skewer though both gf and daughter had their own favourites , a real treat on Leith Walk and we will be back soon”

  “We booked a late table on a Tuesday night- an odd one for a date but you take what the babysitters offer!- and although we were the only customers there for most of our meal they went out of their way to make it feel normal for us. We were in a wee nook so it wasn’t obvious the space was empty. Waiting staff were charming and attentive. Food was delicious as always. Pleased to have tried the margarita flight but will stick to the Mezcal Marg in future as it’s more my style. Only awkwardness was possibility of kitchen not being able to do pudding at the end of our meal- we hadn’t even booked the last slot available for dining (and we had booked in advance) so it felt strange being told we might not be able to have desert. Fortunately the kitchen crew were able to accommodate (which is good as the tres leches cake was delicious). A lovely evening. We will be back.”

  “We came a couple of months ago for dinner and each picked two tacos and shared wings. The wings were very flavorful. All of the tacos were delicious and, given tacos can be messy to eat, we had more than enough napkins to keep us clean. Their house sodas were refreshing. The restaurant had a very laid back vibe and we didn't feel rushed.”

  “Easily the best Mexican food I have eaten so far in Edinburgh and I have sampled a lot of it! Everything that we ordered hit the spot perfectly in terms of flavour pairings, quality of cooking and presentation. The service was good, prompt, attentive but not intrusive. In terms of the tacos, the tortillas were soft and fluffy, the meat was juicy and the toppings they chose to pair with the meat were spot on. Honestly though the stars of the meal were actually the beef short rib and the potato skewer (which could easily be overlooked but was absolutely delicious). I was expecting big chunks of potato but it was actually lots of wafer thin slices of potato pushed tightly together, super crispy on the outside and covered in a delicious sauce. The restaurant vibe and decor was nice and it was lovely and warm inside (not always a given in Edinburgh restaurants!). Literally the only thing I would comment on was that the cushioned built in seating in the window front where we sat was pretty dirty with lots of stains on the fabric and food crumbs, so it wasn't the nicest to sit down on. Seems like an easy thing to fix so hopefully the restaurant owners will see to it soon!”

  “Another fabulous meal at Bodega. The wings are potentially the best we’ve ever had and the flavours in all the sauces and seasonings are on point and delicious. The fish dishes need improvement would be my only feedback. But the meal overall, service, drinks and atmosphere are excellent. (I am coeliac and can confirm it is a safe gf eating venue) Thank you, team at Bodega!”
