  “Been here previously and enjoyed the experience. However, when we went for lunch today. The guy (Alex) taking the orders at the till to say the least was rude. Halfway through taking my order he stopped dealing with me to argue with other staff members about other orders. Our drinks came promptly and we waited for nearly an hour. At that point, I approached a female member of staff as other people had been getting their food before us to enquire about our food. I was flabbergasted to be told by her that “ yes it’s a shambles in here.” She went into the kitchen and never appeared again. After another 10 minutes I went to the counter and spoke to Alex again. I was told to wait again before he could attend to me. I eventually got a refund. His parting shot was to ask for him the next time we are in and he would give me 50% off. Spoilt our day to say the least won’t be back.”

  “Lovely place for a lunch. The place offer tables outside too. I was very surprised with a lot of choices of cold tea etc. Service fast. Ceasar salad so good, big bowl! Definitely will come back.”

  “Good and fresh food here. All good things to say except for the serving speed. The serving speed is quite slow and it took us 45 minutes to receive our food. However, that is just a small thing to tweak. Everything else was chilled and relaxing and servers are very nice. Atmosphere is good and the window seat is great with the sun slicing in through the windows.”

  “Great cafe and superb location. Great atmosphere. If it’s busy can be tricky to park but well worth finding a parking space. Great menu for all palates. Good quality fresh food. From the healthy to a touch of indulgence. Good coffees and home baking. Easy access from the Bypass or bus.”

  “The food is great but the front of house staff are just really not. The management is clearly terrible as here for lunch on a sunday and every table is covered in dishes, and no one cleaned them for the 2 hours i was there. Too many staff not doing the right tasks.”

  “Came here with some friends for lunch on Sunday. Lovely big space with a good varied menu (and a lovely looking display of sweet treats!) My wife had the bacon roll which was really good. Lovely soft fresh roll with plenty of perfectly cooked bacon. I had the smashburger (I can't resist a burger if it's on a menu!) The menu said it was "two mouthwatering 3oz crispy smash beef burgers" but unfortunately it didn't live up to the description! They were not mouthwatering or crispy or even smashed. They were just two standard small patties that were overcooked so not juicy at all. To be a smashburger you have to start with a ball of meat and properly squash them down really thin so they go all crispy at the edges (which I think the person who created the menu intended from the description) but that was not what I got. On the plus side, there was a lot of lovely melty cheese and nice lettuce, and it was served in an amazing ciabatta style roll that was really crispy on the outside yet soft inside (possibly the nicest thing I've ever been served a burger in, so was a shame the meat itself didn't live up to the bun) Our other friends enjoyed their food (soups and pannini) and my friends "Buddha bowl" looked amazing. The latte was also really good. I would recommend this place, and we will be back. But I won't be having the burger unfortunately.”

  “Had this place recommended to me from a few people. The breakfast was absolutely superb. I would highly recommend giving it a visit. The full breakfast is one of the best I've had In Edinburgh. High-quality ingredients. Reasonable price. Coffee was really nice. Outdoor seating. No complaints what so ever.”

  “Great place for wee break, whether it be breakfast, lunch or a coffee after an excursion up the Pentland hills, which are a stone throw away. Lunch was great: had fish and chips and everything was delicious and spot on: no soggy bits, no excessive batter....just great. My son had a double burger and, needless to say, he gobbled it down without saying a word. Chips were amazing for both of us. Smoothie was huge and fruity.”

  “A brilliant #dogfriendly cafe on the outskirts of Edinburgh. They have superb coffee and cakes however the service is a little slow and some lunch options aren't great (small portions and not cooked or presented well) Go for the cake and coffee! They staff are lovely though”
