About Niko's Espresso & Sandwich
Niko's Espresso & Sandwich is a coffee shop in Edinburgh's business district, set in a large café space at 142 Morrison St on a quieter street. Sandwiches anchor the menu, including a Santorini toasted focacia with feta, tomatoes and olives, and a toasted salmon and cream cheese option. Some Greek products are also on sale at the counter alongside the sandwiches. Soup, cakes and cookies round out the food, and the pastry selection includes croissants and a spinach pie. A meal deal is available for anyone building a lunch. Dogs are welcome inside, so walkers can bring a companion along. Public restrooms are close by, as none are on site.

Customer Review Summary
Coffee is the main draw at this Edinburgh café, with reviewers calling it excellent and consistently good, and one describing the espresso as very tasty. Sandwiches come close behind: a toasted salmon and cream cheese sandwich that one diner called a game changer, a falafel sandwich, and a toasted focacia with feta, tomatoes and olives. Others single out the spinach pie, the croissants and a brownie that one reviewer says might be the best they have had. Staff are described repeatedly as friendly and welcoming, and a few mention a quiet, chilled atmosphere despite the business district location. The one sharply negative account describes being ignored by a barista and receiving a latte with burnt milk and a large amount of foam. Smaller notes include a missing Freddo Espresso and no restrooms on site, though one reviewer points out that public ones are nearby.

“I had a salmon and cream cheese sandwich, the waitress asked if I wanted it toasted. Normally I wouldn't but I said yes. It was a game changer, this is probably going to be my lunch spot from now on. Last time time I came I got the falafel sandwich and a sausage roll they were both very good too. The meal deal prices are very good here too. Deserts are exceptional too! As are the staff! All very polite and friendly.”
