  “Unreal hot chocolate. My wife reckons it’s the best she has ever had. It’s certainly up there for me. Nice added touch with the cinnamon. Wicked set up they’ve got. I love how the unit has been kitted out. Very chilled vibe. Nice young woman that served us who was able to provide a little background of the business. Great location as well with it being on the meadows. I wish them all the best.”

  “Incredibly delicious hot chocolate! Perfect balance between the not so sweet hot chocolate and the marshmallows that push it to just the right amount of sweetness. I loved it! The price is very reasonable, for high quality products and a lot of time that goes into the preparation of each drink. The staff is very well trained regarding allergies. As soon as I mentioned gluten-free they told me right away they clean the equipment thoroughly to avoid contamination, I did not even get the chance to ask them to do it. Fellow coeliacs can feel very safe here and I am sure they can cater for many other allergies as well!”

  “This is my go-to spot no matter the season. In the winter, I always come here for their rich and comforting hot chocolate, and in the summer, I make sure to stop by for a refreshing iced coffee. The drinks are consistently great, and it’s the kind of place I find myself returning to again and again throughout the year.”

  “Uplands Roast is a charming little takeaway cabin set up near the University of Edinburgh, right by Meadows Park. It's a perfect spot to grab a warm drink and enjoy the beautiful park views. My friend, who is a hot chocolate lover, tried their marshmallow cinnamon hot chocolate and has been a fan ever since. Every time she's in Edinburgh, a trip to Uplands Roast is a must for her hot chocolate fix. My friend loves it so much that she encourages everyone with her to try it, and they always end up loving it as much as she does!   “Finally got to try Edinburgh’s “most famous” viral must try hot chocolate spot and it did not disappoint! Absolutely loved it. It was satisfying to see it made right in front of us and the top of the drink was just as aesthetic as all the photos I saw online !!! It was also super tasty, just extremely sweet, too sweet to the point where I personally could not finish it but it was so delicious! Still, it is the perfect treat and highly recommend getting it and trying it at least once in your time in Edinburgh.”

  “Hot chocolate lived up to the hype! Perfectly rich, not too sweet hot chocolate with delicious dark chocolate shavings. Plentiful marshmallows and a light dusting of cinnamon paired with the drink perfectly. Location is great to have a wonder around the park or people watching on a bench. Well priced in my opinion, especially considering the popularity.”

  “It’s one of the best hot chocolates I’ve ever had in my life. It’s a small cart with a park opposite to it. It gets chilly and hot chocolate served hot is amazing to start with. The burnt marshmallows and pinch of cinnamon gives an amazing flavour to the hot chocolate. It’s a must visit spot in Edinburgh. I forgot to mention, it’s just 4.8 pounds per hot chocolate in a medium size cup. It’s a very good deal. The staff is very sweet and kind. I’m going to have another hot chocolate here today before I leave.”

  “The best spot in Edinburgh for an authentic hot chocolate with marshmallows. You can get one for just £4.90. The only thing to keep in mind is that it is takeaway only, but it's absolutely worth it because the flavor is exquisite. The staff are very friendly and they have a wide variety of coffees and specialties. They offer several milk alternatives (soy, almond, and oat, as well as whole and semi-skimmed), although they do not have lactose-free milk. Great value for money—definitely worth a visit!”
