Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often single out the Mediterranean pastries, with baklava, a coconut pastry, a feta pastry and a beef sausage roll all named, and one describes them as colourful, sweet and savoury, with a vegan option. Coffee and tea come close behind, with reviewers calling the coffee very good and a cuppa delightful, and one pairing tea with cake after a windy hill walk. A halloumi salad, a filled roll and freshly squeezed apple juice are also called delicious at lunch. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly, lovely or kind, and the atmosphere as relaxed, laid back and chillaxing, with good people watching, though one finds the interior a little clunky and says some chairs are more comfortable than others. Complaints are few but specific. One reviewer says a waitress ignored customers while arranging pastries on a tray, with no table service and a long wait before leaving. Another reports being ill soon after eating. One notes there were no gluten-free options. A reviewer who heard other customers praise the coffee left planning to try it next time.

“It was a little bit clunky inside but we had a very nice coffee and pastries here, and the barista was very pleasant and helpful.”

“Nice bloke serving, subtle background music, unfortunately the window had been vandalised so the glaziers were in, bashing away. Real shame. Only had a cuppa but it was delightful..”

“Great atmosphere but food caused great indecision of my guts, I’ve never voided my bowls so quickly. Service was lovely the barista was nice, but should have warned us of our impending doom. Overall 2 stars”
  • Susan Ferguson
“I had a very good coffee and a coconut pastry thing, I'm not sure what it was called, but it was very nice! The price was very reasonable, and the guy behind the counter was very friendly and approachable. I liked the atmosphere. It was quite laid back, and it was a good spot for a bit of people watching.”

“What a sad experience I had. The grumpy waitress was busy putting pastries on the tray and ignored customers. I was waiting at the door, no reaction, I asked her if I cans sit down and she said yes. I sat down, literally watching her putting pasties on the tray for 20 min. No table service. I got up to the counter again, got ignored. I left… won’t return. I am a good and travel blogger… don’t know what to say”
