Customer Review Summary
The carvery is the main draw at this Coalville pub. Reviewers describe it as hot, with juicy meats, delicious beef and vegetables that are regularly refreshed, and one calls it the best carvery they have had. Another group found the meat a little dry. Close behind, macaroni and cheese was singled out as rich and flavourful, and the pizza chef earned compliments. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and welcoming, and ordering by QR code at the table is described as easy. Desserts drew criticism: the Eton Mess waffles tasted dry and not fresh, the ice cream had ice inside, and the apple in the crumble was taut and lacked sugar. Timing is the recurring complaint. One party of eight saw half their Pub Classics arrive much later than the rest, which they were told was down to online ordering, and another group left because staff never returned after offering puddings. A few mention the nearby woodland walk. One takeaway carvery arrived inedible, with rock-solid pigs in blankets, and the promised refund was still outstanding two weeks later.

“Popped into The Bull’s Head Stonehouse after work for some dinner with a friend and had a really lovely evening. We were looked after by Kayleigh, who was incredibly professional, friendly and attentive throughout our visit. She made us feel very welcome and ensured we had everything we needed without being intrusive. Great service, a relaxed atmosphere and an enjoyable evening all round. A big thank you to Kayleigh for looking after us so well. Will definitely be returning!”

“Had a lovely evening tonight, served by Beth and Johnny. I was unaware of the terms of my Groupon voucher, and asked Beth about this. She was very kind and assisted me in making an order. Both staff went above and beyond to provide excellent service, a very lovely dinner and were very helpful and friendly. Compliments to the pizza chef too. Will be back👍”

“Lovely experience here. Staff were super friendly and the atmosphere of this place is just lovely. It's nice to see the outside areas are well maintained and are kept really nice. Its a nice place to be. We went during the day on a weekday so it was reasonably quiet, but the staff were still attentive and the food and drinks came out rapidly. Ordering was done using the QR code on the tables so ordering and payment was easy and simple. Prices were a little on the high side but to be expected for a nice location. Car park is very large and plenty of parking there and right next to the location. 10/10 will return. Thanks very much.”

“I ordered a large breakfast through uber eats. It shows mushrooms on the picture however mushrooms are never put in (misleading) The egg on this occasion was not acceptable at all it was GREEN. Kayleigh did rectify this which we are grateful for but these things shouldn’t have happened.”

“As always Beth warmly welcomed us and despite us having to change our table reservation time was happy to seat us straight away. The recent full refurb has us eating out regularly again and food appears to have been taken up a notch too. The carvery always hot, meats juicy and vegetables regularly changed/refreshed.”
