Quick info
About The Priory Pub & Kitchen
The Priory Pub & Kitchen is a gastropub in Loughborough, on Nanpantan Rd, with a bar area and a separate restaurant section. The decor is modern and light rather than a traditional dark pub with beams. The menu includes brisket, burgers and sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce, and the mussels starter comes with chips. Crème brûlée is served with shortbread biscuits, and milkshakes sit on the drinks menu. Colouring books and pencils are provided for children, so younger guests have something to do at the table while the adults eat. The pub is open daily.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the food, with the brisket, the sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce, and the mussels with chips singled out by name. One diner says the brisket tears easily and was full of flavour, another calls the mussels excellent and notes the waiter let them turn the starter into a main. The creme brulee comes with shortbread biscuits, and one reviewer mentions a burger that went down well. Close behind are the light, welcoming decor and friendly staff, with a good atmosphere even when busy on university graduation days, and several describe generous portions and a wide drinks and starters choice. Staff also supplied colouring books and pencils for children. The main complaint comes from a breakfast visit, where the reviewer found the food excellent but the service poor: the only person on shift gave an abrupt reply when asked to bring drinks with the meal and suggested ordering a second round later, which left the reviewer saying they would not return for breakfast. One reviewer also passes on that the milkshakes are really nice.

“It was busy yesterday but understandable with the graduation at Loughborough University. Each time I come and visit the town, I always make an effort to come and eat here!”

“What a great "pub"! It may look like a pub outside and it has a nice bar and outdoor area, but the restaurant section is great, as is the food. Not your traditional dark pub with beams, but nice and light, well decorated and welcoming. Would happily go out of my way to get back for a meal. The snacks we had in the bar were very good and the service was good.”
