About Bonnie Rogues Cardiff

Bonnie Rogues Cardiff is a pub in Cardiff at 42-43 St Mary St, with a quiz night hosted at the venue and a live and loud atmosphere alongside it. The kitchen serves home cooked food, and brunch is on the menu. Sunday lunch centres on a beef roast with a large Yorkshire pudding, roasted carrots and veg, and gravy, with glasses of wine served alongside. For a table of friends, the sharing platter is enough for four people. A happy hour menu includes a glass of wine, and that applies to a medium glass. Groups watching sports can book packages that come with pitchers of lager or cider.

Customer Review Summary

The complaints are specific. One group who bought a package for the rugby match found the food cold with small portions, and were given only two of the three promised pitchers of lager or cider despite chasing it repeatedly and complaining on the day. Another was charged full price for a large house white during happy hour, since the menu deal covered only a medium glass and the bartender had not explained this.

“Cardiff. Could have been better. Ordered a large glass of house white wine during happy hour on Sunday 6th of September, and was charged full price when on the menu it clearly said includes glass of wine. Ok it didn’t state the size of glass. Surely bartender could have explained to me better, that it only applies to medium glass of wine.”

“Had an absolute cracker of a Sunday roast here! The beef was tender and cooked to perfection, and the Yorkshire pudding was massive, crisp, and gorgeous. Everything came with proper, delicious trimmings—great roasted carrots, veggies, and rich gravy. Highly recommend if you're looking for a proper hearty roast. Will definitely be back!”

“The food was really good! Even though it’s a bar, we went there just to eat and were pleasantly surprised by the variety of options on the menu. Everything was simple, delicious, and satisfying. A great place for an easy and tasty meal!”

“Came here for the first time for a quiz night - what a fantastic experience! A good laugh and the host was fabulous. Shared a sharing platter which was very tasty and sufficient for 4 of us”

“Me and my friend went here for a Sunday Lunch and glass of wine. We had the beef, it was absolutely amazing, very nice indeed. We went at lunch time so it was very quiet. The place was really lovely, and the staff were really friendly .”

Highlights

“Imagine a pub with the confident, daring and irreverent attitude of a Glaswegian. This is Bonnie Rogues. There is no pub as uniquely bold as Bonnies. With an always-on live & loud atmosphere, it is the place to go for food and drinks during the day or a late-night party in the evening. Consistently good craic, there is no place you can rely on more to be a guaranteed good time. Never restrained by what other pubs do, Bonnie Rogues is where tradition meets tomorrow. Staying up to date, relevant and pushing boundaries to make it the best modern pub. This isn’t just any pub. This is the best the pub can get.”
