About Cambrian Tap
Cambrian Tap is an independent craft beer bar in Cardiff, on a corner of St Mary Street in the pedestrianised city centre. The small pub pours from 18 draught taps and keeps an extensive packaged beer range, so drinkers can move between styles such as stout, IPA, porter and pilsner. Barry Island IPA is among the beers on tap, Guinness is served on draught, and real ales, lagers and spirits are part of the range too. A food menu is available, and customers can also bring in food from across the road to eat inside. Karaoke nights and a DJ bring music to the room. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers come mainly for the beer, praising a wide range of real ales that are well kept, plus a surprisingly diverse selection of spirits and lagers on tap. One enjoyed the Barry Island IPA, and another calls the Guinness a solid pour. Close behind is the staff, repeatedly described as friendly and welcoming, with the bar staff and even the doorman singled out. The atmosphere also earns praise: lively without feeling overcrowded, relaxed and set back from the strip, with good background music. Karaoke nights get a mention as great fun, and one reviewer describes a DJ turning the evening into a low-key party. Food is called outstanding by one visitor. The only recurring cost note is one reviewer finding the Guinness a sting to the wallet, while others call the prices reasonable and the rounds cheap. One reviewer adds that the pub let them eat food from across the road at their table.

“Always a welcoming place with friendly staff, especially Max. Great collection of drinks, and being an independent venue it has a way more personalised vibe than chain pubs around. Small pub, big heart!”
