  “Came here for Sunday lunch!! The vegetarian option was incredible! We ordered 3 extra sides and they were incredible, mixed greens, cauliflower cheese and pigs in blankets. Skip the starter to load up on these!! James the server was so attentive, enthusiastic and helpful in choices!! Would highly recommend this place!!”

  “Corner House Pub is a wonderful place with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. 🍻 The staff are friendly, the drinks are great, and the whole place has that authentic pub feeling that makes you want to stay a little longer.   “I was looking for a simple place to eat that wasn’t a rowdy pub nor an expensive meal and found the corner house. I walked into the lower level, which is the bar area and tried to find someone to show us our table and had to go to the bar to ask. We were shown to our table and had a friendly waitress greet us. We had a couple of drinks and then ordered a cheeseburger and a half rotisserie chicken. The burger was OK but the meat patty seemed like it was a premade frozen patty. The rotisserie chicken was good, but as you can see in the photo, was tiny. Barbecue gravy was delicious. This meal did not exceed our expectations. Not bad, but not great.”

  “Came for the bottomless brunch and it was great value for money. 90 minutes of Prosecco with 2 courses and friendly, attentive service from Alex. The goats cheese starter and cheeseburger were delicious. Would definitely recommend!”

  “We had a party of six and booked in advance and pre-orderd our food buy do did not pay a deposit in advance, but the option is there. Food : the menu is available online so we were able to select from the comprehensive list which is organised according to main, starter and desserts. The food was delicious 😋 and everyone in our party was able to select something from the menu that they enjoyed. Also according to their pocket. Service : as a large table we were charged a service charge of 20% of the price of our bill. The service was excellent. Our host was organised, friendly and accommodating and allowed us to each pay for our bill separately, as even though the bill was generated as one bill each party member calculated what they had spent from the list and then we had divided the service charge by six. Five people payed by card and one person paid by cash. The individual bill ranged from £50 down to £20 depending on what the individual had ordered. Atmosphere :We were in a separate wing upstairs so it was only us, there were other large parties on a different wing. The bar downstairs was full and lively but we didn't have any interaction with the bar downstairs as our drinks were served to us. Cleanliness : excellent. The toilets are located via a maze of stairs and were very clean as was the whole of the venue.. Accessibility : upstairs is accessible via narrow multi-level stairs and do are the toilets so I didn't see a lift, at a glance I would say that it was not wheelchair friendly.”

  “We visited The Corner House during a August bank holiday weekend trip in Cardiff. Prior to the trip I’d done some research and found that the Corner House’s menu looked rather appealing therefore decided to book a table on the Tuesday evening to dine there. We were slightly early upon arrival from our reserved time however there were plenty of places to sit and we were quickly shown to a downstairs table. The venue looked clean and presentable and there were a few other people in during the time of our visit however it wasn’t overly crowded or busy. The service was good and the waitress was quick to take our orders. Overall, I’d say the service was quick and we didn’t seem to be waiting long between courses. They were also prompt to bring the bill when requested and to take payment which is good. The menu items were a little on the pricy side depending on what you ordered therefore I expected it to be good decent tasty food. Unfortunately, I didn’t feel this was the case although all of the food was nice it didn’t exactly wow me or bowl me over and left me feeling a little disappointed. To start I opted for the Pan Fried King Prawns at £10.50 which were tasteless, didn’t really taste of anything. The main was slightly better, I ordered Signature Duo of Pork at £21.25 and I did request the dish with additional scallops but they didn’t have any which was disappointing. The dish itself however was nice. My partner opted for the ‘dirty burger’ and at £21.50 you’d probably expect it to be something special however upon arrival it looked just like any other burger you’d get from any restaurant nothing overly special about it at all. I opted for dessert and had Toffee Crème Brulee at £9.75, not sure what I was expecting with this, the menu said strawberries and there were no strawberries on the plate I’m guessing they didn’t have any. The portion size seemed rather small considering how much I paid for it and once again wasn’t anything special about it. Unfortunately, I don’t believe the food here lives up to the expectations, although it was nice that’s all I can really say about it. Perhaps if I had chosen different dishes my experience would have been better. However, from what we did eat I believe it to be over priced especially the burger my partner opted for. The price point doesn’t really reflect the taste I expected, I thought it would be food I’d rave about for ages afterwards but it was quickly forgettable. In the end perhaps my expectations were too high on this occasion the menu over delivered but in reality, the food under delivered for me. Once again this is just my opinion but I wouldn’t recommend or visit this venue again.”
