About The Philharmonic
The Philharmonic is a bar in Cardiff at 76-77 St Mary St, spread over three floors with four distinct bar areas. Drinks, meals and dancing all share one venue, so a night out can move from a table with friends to the music without changing address. Each of the four bar areas works as its own drinking space within the same building. A terrace gives guests room to step outside. Bottomless brunch is on offer, and the venue welcomes special occasions with many guests.

Customer Review Summary
Bottomless brunch is what most reviewers come for, and the waiting staff drive most of the praise. Several describe attentive servers who kept drinks flowing and arrived quickly, with one group of nine noting the full 90 minutes of refills. Reviewers also single out the sausage sandwich with skin-on fries, huge portions, delicious cocktails, and quick food even when busy. Close behind is the live band, which one reviewer found loud enough for a cracking atmosphere yet not so loud it drowned out the football, and another describes as welcoming to all ages. Two-for-one happy hour drinks and rental phone chargers also get a mention.

“Booked a table to watch the football, the tv closest to us wasn’t showing the footie but they happily changed it so we had a better view, brilliant idea with the rental phone chargers, cheap and ideal when ur out! Food exceptional!!! Live band down the back end was brilliant, not too loud to drown out the football but a cracking atmosphere!!”

“It was my first visit to the bar and I'm also not happy to say the least with the fact that unless you specifically specify that you want 2 cocktails (when it clearly states on the cocktail menu 2 4 1), you will only be provided with 1 drink/glass. Once you have paid & not even moved from the bar with your drink, bother asking where the 2nd/free one is, they won't give it to you as you never specified you wanted the 2. Before you think I may have wanted 2 different cocktails and mix & match wasn't allowed, I want 2 of the same cocktail. The attitude on the staff was nonchalant about the fact & point blank refused to provide the extra/free 2-4-1 drink.”

“Love the live music, one of the best places in Cardiff for this and welcomes people of all ages. Great atmosphere enough to relax and dance it you want to. Good choice of drinks and offers of two for one for happy hour always goes down well.”

“I don’t recommend Philharmonic for bottomless brunch. I paid £40 for the Golden Hour Bottomless Brunch for my birthday, and unfortunately the service was really disappointing. Our table wasn’t ready when we arrived, despite waiting around 5 minutes. There were 6 of us but only 5 were doing bottomless, yet we waited 35 minutes and only had one drink. Drinks were forgotten, brought incorrectly, and we had to keep asking to order more. One friend ordered an orange gin and was told, “This should be orange gin…” — it wasn’t. If you enjoy being your own waiter, chasing your drinks and playing “guess what they’ve brought you this time”, this might be the place for you. The food came quickly, but the chips were VERY salty and the burger bun was so hard I could’ve used it as a doorstop. We were also only given one set of cutlery, which we had to ask for. At the end, we were told we needed to leave for another booking, which we understood. I asked if we could wait for two friends who were in the bathroom, and was told that was fine. Two minutes later, another worker told us to leave immediately. I explained the situation, but she still insisted. I found this really rude, especially as it was my birthday. I’d personally stick with Slug & Lettuce. It’s usually much busier, but I’ve had better service and actually received the drinks I ordered.”

“Had an amazing bottomless brunch here with work — 9 of us and we all loved it! Great value, delicious cocktails, huge portions and an amazing atmosphere with the live band. Our waiter Carly was brilliant and kept the drinks flowing the whole 90 minutes! Couldn’t recommend it enough!”
