Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return for the pies, praised as lovely and perfectly cooked, with one pie night visit singling out gorgeous chips as well. Close behind is the fish pie, called the best meal one regular has had here, and big portions, including gravy served in buckets that one diner found delish. One reviewer liked the bone marrow sauce but found the home made onion rings left an oily after taste and the steak fatty. The big beer garden and the dog friendly bar area, where meals can also be eaten, come up repeatedly, and the atmosphere is described as cozy. Complaints centre on waiting and service. One party waited about 40 minutes after being seated just to order, and was not credited for drinks offered in the meantime. Another had to chase staff for both drinks and food orders and found the manager rude, though the servers were called friendly and helpful. Others mention two mains unavailable on a birthday night and noise levels that were a bit much.

“Had a fantastic visit here recently. The food was absolutely spot on and full of flavour. I was particularly impressed with the pie, which was perfectly cooked and seasoned with seeds on top. Everything came out fresh and looked great on the plate. It is a lovely spot for a relaxed meal. We will definitely be back soon.”

“Went for pie night. The pies were lovely, chips were gorgeous. Only thing is we had to wait about 40 minutes from being seated to even order. The waiter offered a few drink whilst we were waiting but then didn’t knock this off the bill which was a bit strange. A nice pub with good vibes.”

“First off, with such a limited menu it was really disappointing to find two mains not available on the night. We came as a large party for a birthday, minor annoyance aside the meal was really good. Noise levels are a bit much and there seemed to be something going off outside. I'd recommend for the food, less so for the noisy atmosphere.”

“We had a fantastic family meal recently, and it was great that we could bring our dogs along too! The food was top-notch, and the staff were so friendly and welcoming throughout our visit. They really knew the menu well and helped us pick out some delicious dishes. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the service was super quick. I can't wait to come back for another great time!”
