Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the friendly, attentive service, with one server mentioned repeatedly for helping a diner choose gluten free options and for adding an anniversary message to a dessert. Another server is described as attentive and polite, and a third as chatty and consistently friendly across several visits. Food comes close behind. One reviewer calls the butter cuttlefish outstanding and says it tasted like the authentic flavours of Sri Lanka, while the chorizo sausage is called delicious. Others praise a ribeye steak cooked to perfection, fish and chips, and good portions at a Sunday lunch. Family groups describe orders served promptly, requests accommodated and clean plates all round, and one Boxing Day diner brought a Labrador, noting the pub is dog and children friendly. The only gap raised is on the menu: a diner who found a good range of gluten free dishes still wished there were a gluten free pizza. One reviewer drops in unexpectedly and is seated straight away, and another says they would love to return for the signature burger.

“Came for the food, stayed because Cath clearly runs the place! The Red Kite is a lovely pub with great food, a welcoming atmosphere and a team that always seems happy to help. But let's be honest... the real five-star attraction is Cath. I'm convinced if the building caught fire, Cath would calmly seat everyone by the fireplace, take their drinks order, extinguish the flames and still ask if we'd like to see the dessert menu. Friendly, funny, attentive and somehow everywhere at once. I'm not saying she has superpowers, but I've never seen her and Superman in the same room. The food was excellent, the service was spot on, and Cath made the whole visit feel like you were being looked after by an old friend. It's no surprise she's mentioned so often in customer reviews. If you're visiting the Red Kite, ask for Cath. If she's off that day... it might still be worth going, but you'll definitely be missing the VIP experience! Highly recommended.”
