  “This is a very nice pub, but I wouldn't bother with the Sunday lunch. We waited approximately 45 minutes for the lunch to be served, it was stone cold when it arrived at the table, and there was less meat than usual. Half way through eating we were told that we had 10 minutes to eat up, as the table was needed for the next booking. Never again, not this side of heaven.”

  “Very good food here! Defo recommend a visit! It was very busy when we went on a Thursday evening so I would recommend booking ahead. Car park is also not the biggest so just be prepared if you have a larger vehicle.”

  “Fantastic place! Been here before but today was for my mates birthday and the selection of food was exquisite! Sourdough loaf locally made, pie and mash all spruced up and delightful apple crumble and custard. Really recommend coming here hungry and ready to be amazed by the selection of food and the great atmosphere!”

  “Lovely lunch at the Oak. With the fire roaring, the back dining area is exactly what an English pub should be - cosy, welcoming, warm and serving up excellent dishes. I had the Cottage pie and roasted veg, and it was delicious. It is a Fullers pub, so expect Fullers ales (not my favourite), but otherwise a superb pub and well worth a visit ☺️”

  “The food was exceptional! Absolutely delicious! Lovely friendly service! We went for an evening meal just 2 of us! Wasn’t particularly busy but a nice atmosphere! Cant wait to return! Can’t recommend the dirty fries enough! They tasted incredible!”

  “I had a wonderful experience at the oak, Aston Clinton. The staff were friendly and attentive, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. I ordered the roast lamb with mint sauce, and it was cooked to perfection. The portions were generous and the prices were reasonable. The oak also has a great selection of drinks, from local ales to fine wines. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quality meal in a charming setting.”

  “Went for Sunday lunch with my family last week. Seated swiftly and drinks taken, waited a little while for our order to be taken. I asked for the kids food to come out straight away with the starters but it didn't. We waited 30 mins for starters and another hour for our food! I asked again for the kids' food to come out when it's ready but it didn't, and it came with the adults' mains and piping hot! Come on the Oak! This is so basic, not to mention no crayons for kids, and the plate was piping hot! The waitress told my 5-year-old to be careful! Kids squash came in a pint glass! You market yourself as a family pub, but apart from a climbing frame (which is great), the tiny puzzle on the kids menu was underwhelming! The waitress who is short, blonde, and older said sorry for the wait but literally barked at us. No cutlery, and when we asked, it got dumped on the table, we asked for sauces, which took another 5 mins and 3 pots brought for a table of 12! Had to ask for more. We were upsold a couple of cauliflower cheese as a side, which was disappointing, to say the least. The same waitress came over with dessert menus and said "right everyone, we have 3 cheesecakes, not this, not that" literally barking and no apology for this! We left and didn't bother with dessert. On a positive note, the portions were big and the food tasted nice when it arrived. I wouldn't recommend and wouldn't return. Such a shame! There is a lot of other pubs to choose from close by! I did send them an email with feedback but no response!”

  “By chance found this on Google when search for a pub on the way home from a National Trust. We would not have found it without the aid of maps. Nice welcome seated inside which had character. Menu Fairly extensive, I had the pie of the day, beef and ale, my partner had the ploughman’s it was a large plate of cheese, pickles and apples - delicious. My daughter had two starters, pate and mushrooms on sourdough toast p, causing food envy on my part, Food very good reasonable prices and great service Search it out it will be worth it”
