Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the food, with the Sunday roast of slow cooked rib beef on the bone called perfect by one walker, and the sticky toffee pudding praised alongside it. Close behind are the crispy chicken burgers, garlic mushrooms, bangers and mash, and a steak that a waiter quickly replaced with a second one on request. Several describe friendly, accommodating staff, including patience with autistic children and extra dietary requests handled without fuss. Reviewers also like the relaxed pub setting and well kept Green King beers. The main complaints are value and pace. Three at one table found the sea bream with capers a very small piece of fish for the money, and another reviewer waited 20 minutes for a dessert menu before giving up, after a slow order and a "used by" sticker found stuck to the plate. The apple and blackberry crumble drew praise, and the waitress brought two extra jugs of custard without any fuss.

“Had a lovely meal with my lady, when food arrived I thought I would eat it twice, but it did certainly fill the boots! I jokingly said shout another steak and our waiter Justin made it happen within 5 minutes, very full, very happy, great service great venue.”

“We had lunch here today (Wednesday) it's a nice place to go. We were meeting friends and looked at the menu and reviews which are mostly positive. The staff were very friendly, helpful and accomodating and it didn't seem overly busy, however, three of us chose the Sea bream (with capers) as a main course and the portion size was very disappointing for the money £19, one VERY small piece of fish, at the very least the dish could have 'bulked out' with more new potatoes and vegetables (there wasn't a large portion of these either) so not really good value for money in our opinion. The apple and blackberry crumble was very nice, we asked the waitress for more custard and this wasn't a problem and we got 2 extra jugs. Such a shame that the main course let it down, hence only 3 star rating for food.”

“Came for an impromptu dinner with family, 2 members of the party had the crispy chicken burgers and they thoroughly enjoyed them. The meat succulent and the size of the burger was good for the price. I myself had the garlic mushrooms and they were delicious. Would defenitely come back and recommend to friends and family. Our waitresses Lily and Juliette were attentive and friendly and made the whole experience pleasant.”
