Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the food, and the beef is the dish named most, described as soft and pink with generous portions and fabulous gravy at a Sunday lunch, and as nicely cooked with a flavourful carrot purée at another meal. Pork loin, a venison starter and a set lunch menu also draw specific praise, and one family notes the kids enjoyed garlic doughballs, pasta and chicken goujons. Close behind is value, with several reviewers comparing the quality to pricier pubs and restaurants in the Cotswolds or London while calling it good value for money. Staff are repeatedly described as welcoming, friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere as cosy and warm, with outdoor seating in summer and a lively pub side. One group with two vegans, a gluten-free guest and two young children says the staff made sure everyone was well catered for, and another reviewer's Sunday lunch finished with an espresso martini after wine that complemented the meal.

“Visited this gem of a place for the first time tonight with friends. All four of us were so very impressed with everything about it. We arrived at 6 p.m. and the pub side and outdoors were busy and lively. Indoors the dining area was pleasantly cool and cosy with tasteful decor and just a lovely ambience. Nothing pretentious here. The staff were all welcoming and accommodating and the food just sublime. The menu had four choices per course and our choices surpassed expectations. We will definitely return and would heartily recommend The Five Elms.”

“Fab lunch with excellent food and really good service. Our group included two vegans, one gluten-free guest, and two young children, and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful or accommodating who made sure everyone felt genuinely welcome and well catered for. The food was really tasty and well presented and there was a good selection of dishes to choose from for everyone – we’ll definitely be back.”

“What an absolute gem of a place. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. The staff were welcoming, attentive and friendly, the food was amazing and a lovely bottle of wine and atmosphere to go with it. By far the best place we have eaten in the local area. Just as good quality as the fancy pubs/restaurants in the Cotswolds or London, but much kinder of the purse strings! Will definitely be returning.”
