About MORENO
At 2201 Summit Ave in Union City, MORENO serves Ecuadorian cuisine across a menu of 127 dishes. The restaurant takes walk-ins rather than reservations, and table service brings servers to each guest once seated. Families with young children can make use of high chairs at the table. The restaurant is BYOB, so diners bring their own alcohol, while the kitchen serves non-alcoholic drinks such as limonada and piña colada in-house. Those who prefer to eat off site can order takeaway or delivery. MORENO opens daily, giving regular access without set closing days. The combination of a large, varied menu and a BYOB policy shapes a straightforward setup for a sit-down Ecuadorian meal or food to go.

Diners repeatedly single out the pork chops, served with rice and lentils topped with cheese, as a standout, alongside praise for the crab dinner and the non-alcoholic limonada and piña colada drinks, both called awesome. Several reviewers underline that the cuisine tastes genuinely authentic, with more than one comparing it to home cooking from a grandmother and noting it avoids any outside culinary influence. Close behind the food, the service draws consistent attention: reviewers describe the staff, including servers, as attentive, friendly, and quick to walk newcomers through the menu, with multiple diners recommending dishes based on staff suggestions. The BYOB setup comes up repeatedly as part of the experience. Several note the space is small and quaint, working well for solo diners, dates, or larger parties, with one group of ten mentioning that all their varied orders arrived on time and tasted good. No recurring complaints surface across the reviews. One visit for a holiday weekend closes on the detail of putting a name down and being seated within about ten minutes before the meal began.

“Excellent pork chops cooked perfectly! Came with delicious rice with lentils and cheese on top. We also had the special crab dinner which was excellent. The limonado and Pina colada drinks were awesome. They are non alcoholic but this is a BYOB restaurant. Very nice restaurant I highly recommend trying it if you are in the Union City area!”

How this listing is sourced
- Where the data comes from
- Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
- How it stays current
- Every listing is re-checked on a recurring crawl, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
- How it is ranked
- Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
