About LOS TACOS No.1
LOS TACOS No.1 is a taco restaurant in New York, serving tacos, quesadillas, and aguas frescas from a street-style setup with no seating at 75 9th Ave. The format is counter service built for takeout, with a menu that keeps the focus on taco fillings and classic Mexican staples. The Adobada Carne Asada Tacos Carne Asada anchors the lineup, while the Street Tacos and the house Los Tacos round out the core options. Quesadillas and aguas frescas complete the range, giving the menu a straightforward, filling-focused structure. Because the setup has no seating, most orders are picked up to go, making it a practical stop for a quick meal near the Chelsea area. The counter layout keeps ordering and pickup in one simple flow.

Customer Review Summary
Diners consistently single out the carne asada taco as the standout order, repeatedly praising its bold, authentic flavor and generous portion, with several calling it the best taco in New York City. The adobada pork with pineapple also draws strong praise for being juicy, spicy, and well balanced, and one reviewer highlights the chili shrimp as a memorable option. Watching staff prepare tacos behind the counter is a recurring part of the experience, described as efficient and entertaining. Most note the line can look long but moves quickly, and several suggest the counter-service setup means you should plan to take food to shared seating elsewhere in Chelsea Market. A few reviewers flag trade-offs: the carne asada can come out dense or chewy, the salsa picante heat level varies from batch to batch, and one diner advises skipping the mulita. Price comes up as both a compliment and a caveat, with some calling it great value for Manhattan and others questioning whether the tacos quite justify the cost.

“Los Tacos No. 1 at Chelsea Market is the best taco spot in New York City! We ordered the steak and pork tacos as well as the chips and guacamole. Everything was so authentic and flavorful! We visited on a Saturday at lunch. It was busy with a long line, but the line went pretty quick. It was really cool watching them prepare the tacos while we waited! It’s counter service with minimal seating options at the counter. However, Chelsea Market has several seating options throughout the building, and we easily found a table to eat at. Highly recommend Los Tacos No. 1, and can’t wait to visit again soon!”

“Forget Broadway, this kitchen is a form of culinary theatre! As I waited for my tacos, I was mesmerized by watching the kitchen staff, operating like a well-oiled, perfectly synchronized machine behind the counter. They really had it down …”

“We got x3 tacos, grilled steak, grilled chicken and marinated pork - I got them with the recommended toppings on a corn tortilla. Absolutely delicious, so fresh and flavourful! The staff were great, quick and efficient. Three tacos came to $18.78”
